SS5 41 Sarah writes an email
skyangel on March 29, 2014
And this finally takes us right back to the very first page of the new chapter where Sarah writes to her first blind date.
When I did this many moons ago we had to send a letter to a box no. held by the newspaper who then fowarded it on to the other person and I think it cost 3 but was a one off handling fee for handling it and you could put what you liked in the letter and send it sealed. The date then wrote back or phoned you depending on what personal details you included . Nowadays though, I noticed the same newspaper handles it differently. You have to send at least five text or email messages through them before they will allow you to swap contact info and each text cost 1.50 so it's now a min of 7.50 per date. Meanies!
The most annoying thing I found though was when I paid the 3 to send the letter and then never even got a reply! Next week we'll find out if Sarah gets one!
Have a nice week :)

Hi Royce, lovely to see you again, hope you and Conrad are doing okay. :) I don't want to give away too much about future pages but I think readers will enjoy the events that are coming up. :)

Bear: Our local paper has done this since as far back as I can remember. It's a freebie full of adverts and literally with only about two pages of news, but it is very handy for advertising local events and reading about them, and this dating thing is normally a whole page dedicated to the dating ads.

Locoma: Yeah, I was a bit shocked myself as it always felt before that it was just something they would do for the locals as a community service. It is free to post and ad in the first place but the interested party has to pay to read it, so if it's a time waster or you don't get a reply, you've lost your money.

Kim: Haha We have Becky to thank for that top :) I'm not terribly patriotic at all so I'd probably never even have thought of that, but when the page came back it felt so right for Leo that I was really pleased with it.

Hi there, skyeangel! I'm all caught up, finally. I sort of wished Sarah had gone out with the shop girl. Just once, anyway. Sarah's parents condeming her for her relationship failure cracked me up. Like they are good examples...Yeah. That's the way I'd want to live my life. Your art work is more awesome and the coloring is, too. Wonderful stuff. Am glad to be back. R.

I love the backgrounds! Nice work, team SSarah :D Who hasn't been there, nervous just before clicking a send button :P I can't believe they charge you to use those sites... I thought they were free!

Hmm... I was thinking when I saw it "Did she have online dating then?". I always wondered about dating agencies pre-internet. I do have to say, I think the newspaper's newer policy is probably better value - given inflation _and_ the fact that your previous results were poor. I kinda envy today's "yoof" and their internet options - everything from "eHarmony" to "fuck buddy" sites and all sorts of stuff in between!! B-) I wish I could've switched my brain off too, back in the day !

Yeah, the mind can sabotage many a new venture - sometimes you gotta tell it to shut up! Great Page! Great Detail of their jaunt through town - makes it a living town. Haha when I visited southern England several years ago, I bought one of those cheezy Union Jack Tank Tops!
