SS7 16 Leaving
skyangel on June 22, 2019
An uneventful first dig for the girls this time but as they prepare to leave we now return to a much earlier time, long before either of them were born when that mysterious horse and carriage first entered the area
and next week we'll finally get to meet it's rather sinister passenger! ;)
Have a nice week!

Dear sky most probably with the scare crow tommym

That's a good guess hon :)

Nice job making the black and white past seem ominous and creepy! o_0

Due East: Thanks :)

So it really was just an old farm implement . . . ah well. And while I didn't notice it until someone pointed it out - the door. Opps. (Or maybe Sarah's customised her Mini for metal-detecting adventures.) But I do like the way the strip transitions from the present to the past - very nicely done. And on the arm of the cross? The crow. Or is it a raven?
Fruitbat44v2 at 8:23AM, June 29, 2019
And as if by magic . . . the door appears! :)
skyangel at 5:49PM, June 27, 2019
Fruitbat: I think it's that crow again ;) That door has to be one of my biggest boo boo's to date I think. My usual is continuity in clothing or missing fingers but an entire car door was almost enough to make me faint!

Boy, I just love those last two panels!! It's such a nice touch taking the scene back in time like that. And, the passenger door doesn't bother me. I've been known to intentionally leave things out that get in the way of the action (seatbelts are the bane of my existence).
skyangel at 5:41PM, June 27, 2019
Barry: Haha I've moaned about seat belts myself in the past! I really hate the things as they just feel like unnecessary clutter that get in the way. As for the art, it's always fun to play with ideas isn't it. In my original script The girls leave at the end of one page and then we go back in time on the following, but when I came to do the pages I realised I could blend them together in a more interesting way.
BearinOz at 7:14AM, June 26, 2019
Yeah, I was always leaving seatbelts out, especially as there were so many van 'shots' in mine.
BearinOz at 9:05PM, June 23, 2019
Haha...only at the 3rd look do I notice : NO passenger door on the mini ! B-) I must win a "no-prize" for that.
BearinOz at 9:32PM, June 28, 2019
You fixed it ! Nice.... so now, anyone who saved down the original page has a "collector's item" . Damn - I should have ! B-)
BearinOz at 5:44AM, June 28, 2019
No, Jane is not too big for the car....
skyangel at 5:31PM, June 27, 2019
Bear: It fell off! I must admit that even after reading your comment it took a while for me to realise which door was missing! As Becky says I was cringing over the fact that I felt I'd drawn Janey too large for the car but it never occurred to me the door was missing too! I must use proper refs in future!
bexlicious at 4:58PM, June 24, 2019
ohmygosh you're so right Bear! Sky and I were thinking Janey's size was a tad too big but it's the missing door that's off!... weird how you can feel something is off but what it is eludes you, or your mind fills in the gaps. You do with the non-prize haha

Really love your style and happy to see this story still going strong after so many years.
skyangel at 5:25PM, June 27, 2019
Hyper: Thanks :)
DarkVisor at 2:25PM, June 22, 2019
Wonderful how the last panel slowly transitions into colour :D
skyangel at 5:25PM, June 27, 2019
DV: I forgot to tell Becky that I was considering having the last two panels in sepia so she did them in full colour as usual so I think it was a bit of a shock for her to see what I'd done at first but it did give me the opportunity to do that nice little fade at the end back to her original colouring.
BearinOz at 9:28PM, June 22, 2019
Yeah, ditto
moizmad at 11:28AM, June 22, 2019
The home's chimneys are now gone along with all those trees behind, I bet the crows know what happened.
skyangel at 5:15PM, June 27, 2019
Mo: They do indeed! Somewhere along the line the old fireplaces were removed and they had central heating installed.
DarkVisor at 2:24PM, June 22, 2019
Yeah, noticed the missing chimney's as well
skyangel at 5:12PM, June 27, 2019
NicandBen: *High five* Time machines!
fallopiancrusader at 6:54AM, June 22, 2019
Nice touch, showing how the trees have grown and aged over time!
