SS7 120 Guilt-Edged Apologies
skyangel on Oct. 23, 2021
I have to say I find this idea of Janey's mum pushing her own guilt back on Sarah kind of amusing as it's something people often do when trying to feel less bad about themselves. ‘I know it was me that knocked the vase off the shelf but let’s not forget YOU were the one who put it on that narrow shelf in the first place.'
As for the Claire stuff, I couldn't resist it. No way did Claire and Janey end up getting intimate just because of anything Janey's mum might have said but her misguided thinking is obviously a little more salt in the wound for Sarah.
Anyways, nuff said
Next week will be the final page of this scene as Mom concludes her well meaning chat and then… we can see the repercussions of what she has started here.
Thanks as always for all your lovely comments, it's always interesting to hear how our readers interpret these kind of conversations!

Mrs. D talks too much. She isn't really apologizing, she's dumping.

"Well meaning?" Well, yes, but a bit stilted, "The fashion these days . . . ??!!" And to be fair, I can understand how Sarah being concerned for Stacey wouldn't endear her to Janey. But no, Janey's wandering is all down to her. How Sarah finally reacts to all this will be interesting.

Sarah being focused on every one _other_ than her supposed girlfriend didn't help... They both need to own up to their own actions: neither are entirely to blame, and neither are entirely innocent of blame
