I guess I'll offer an explanation. It's a physical gag meant to suggest that Circle is rolling down the slope of the line. Given the minimalist nature of the comic's artwork there aren't enough visual cues to make the connection. And that is what Circle references at the end.
It's just more fourth wall breaking humour at my expense.
