First, fnd a good source for getting sprites. Example:http://spritecity0.tripod.com/id4.html. I found this a good sprite resource. Save one sheet and open that sheet on paint. Now, delete the sprites you don't want and make a small picture in the top left corner. When you have your picture, choose the line tool and draw 2 lines, making a frame. Do the same for the rest of the squares, going from left to right, it also helps to number the squares.
