As soon as a child starts school, it’s hammered into them that each and every one of us is unique, special in our own individual way. They’re taught that everyone has their own individual paths that they will take, based on the decisions they make, swaying the rudder of their ship. Every step they take towards that job interview, every afternoon they study instead of wasting your evening, every insult they direct at the unfortunate person (who possibly does deserve it), turns them a little in the path of life. But what if our paths are already carved and cut out for us? Paved with golden tiles or bricks? Straight and narrow or twisted and overgrown with troubles? What if fate really does influence the paths our lives take? This is the story of three friends, and of the people they encounter on their paths, a story about the trials of life and fate alike. Together, Fletcher, Alex and Hunapo must survive their teenage years, facing the dangers of alcohol, drugs and depression, taking on the world one step at a time. Relationships grow and suffer, personalities mature, lessons are learned. But in the end, none of this will seem as difficult as they face the reality of Community 12
