A Cow Conundrum: She's Right Behind Me.
Steely Gaze on Sept. 13, 2009
Cows are not adept at playing hide-and-seek.
Amazing, can it be? An update that isn't several weeks in the making?! It is! Surely this is a sign of the coming apocalypse.
Well, I'm still playing the seemingly eternal game of catch-up, hampered ever so slightly by plasma blasts of death, but finally it looks like there's a silver lining in these clouds. With the addition of a new flats colorist (CK still handles the gradient and shading duties), the comic producing speed has been effectively tripled! At least, compared to when I was doing the colors. :P
And just who is this mystery colorist? Well, in the tradition of keeping the creative process in the family (and not wanting to pay anyone) I made the clever choice of…my brother. He's a learning artist and colorist, making slow but steady progress, and this just gives him another outlet to practice with.
Some of his work can be viewed on his deviantART account, located here.
Now, in the meantime, I think it's time to reply to some comments I neglected last week-ish.

@lulululuqtqt: It seems the general opinion is that it's not overly weird at all. In fact, I only received one comment on it being weird, and that wasn't on here! I suppose we all must have someone to share our thoughts with. :)
@Trevor: And this time I'm hoping to keep it around without those terribly long pauses in-between.
@Amanda: And if it is weird, at least it's the normal kind of weird! Right? I talk to certain family members, who shall go unnamed, and most times I might as well be talking to a rotting tree for all the good it does me. :P
@Flup: Help? Hardly. Where would the fun be if it was someone to help. ;)
@Patrickdevine: Yes, those cows certainly sound like jerks! Why, I wouldn't be surprised if they were those young city cows, too hip to listen to anything but that terrible Elvis music! For shame! :P
@Kid: New pens, new comic pages, new assistant colorist, new and somewhat frightening rash! Everything is new these days! :D

I'm not sure why, but Jared's :V face in panel three made me laugh. I suspect Henry is going to ninja this guy.

Funny that Jared's acting like he doesn't know what a cow looks like XD Also you've worded the farmer man's speech perfectly. I can just hear that accent!

Haha, that's awesome. I like the description.

I don't know why, but I had a lot of fun doing this one...This next one though...it's a liiiittle bit trickier *has backgrounds held at gunpoint* but our new "flatist" has assured me he can work well with a shorter deadline than the previous one I estimated. (In other words; I miiiight have it finished by Wednesday. Maybe.) ^_^; BUT I'M FEELING HOPEFUL!!! ^o^

I love the really small "yeeaah." I'm always adding in extra letters to make it sound loooonger, and nobody seems to realize why.
