Actually the pink elephant is a common theme in old cartoons where drunkards were concerned. the pink elephant has been in several Looney Tunes, the Simpsons, and I think there were a few in Dumbo (I think it's even got a song about it, Dumbo is drunk in the sequence) [url=http://www.randomhouse.com/wotd/index.pperl?date=19980826]or see here![/url] As for Life and Death, haven't had the pleasure of reading that one yet.
