Yeah, that armor makes Mindmistress pretty strong—like Spider-Man level strong, but not Thing or Hulk or Superman-level strong. And I'm not saying Suki is as tough as a cartoon character in ROGER RABBIT, but evidently her manga-type body can take a LOT of punishment.–Al

...So if you've ever been intimidated by the size of Mindmistress' archives, you can start from the beginning there.
When you get to Hulk/Superman level strength, you have to consider the fragility of the objects you are picking up. Boats (ships) and airplanes are not designed to be lifted on point-loads the size of person's hand. They are more likely to shatter or rip at that point rather than be lifted. Same thing with throwing: is it object being thrown going to shatter on impulse (the push to throw), let alone impact?
This is one thing that has struck me repeatedly with Superman. Sure he might be strong enough to lift a destroyer out of the water with his two hands, but is the destroyer?
Fear comes from not knowing and Suki knows this polar bear and that he is not going to attack her from that position. Her body appears to be pretty resilient so having a 500+ kg bear land on her did not provide significant injury; if not, her screaming would be in pain, not anger. This girl definitely has some anger-management issues, so I think her reaction is totally justified.
Spider-man is one of the strongest superheros from a physics standpoint. After a certain point in superstrength the more you lift the more pressure you are putting on yourself or the ground. This also applys to punching things. With Spiderman he is able to "cling" to the ground and put all of his force into his punches, instead of being pushed back like other super strong people. Super strength on the Hulk level is only useful when throwing something.

Suki is such a sweetheart, I don't know why everyone is always so mean to her! Poor kid, just trying to make her way in a cold, uncaring world!

A 500 kg or more heavy polarbear lands on you.. you are bounded to scream in horror. not in anger. xD

Suki originates from a manga style universe where everything is very sweet - all sugar and spice... clearly Suki is the odd one out!

Stephen's working on an origin for Suki, but I know he has a way to go. Stephen has Tuesday's page, and Nepath has Thursday's.

If I understand right, Suki was made for this comic. But I could be wrong.

A Polarbear might top Mindmistress in sheer strength, even with her in her armor, but I guess she's picked up some martial arts along the way :)

that awkward moment when you're killing bitches and a polar bear lands on top of you.

Wow that's a lot for Suki to "bear" now eh? Two questions: What webcomic Suki originated from? Who has art chores for the next page(s)?
TuuronTour at 2:47AM, April 6, 2012
Suki can bear a lot it seems
