It's not often you see a guy that green who's got the blues that bad.
Now this is the meeting that I've been waiting so many years to see. Dasien has had run-ins with the likes of Energize, Common-Sense Girl, and even the heroes of Alternate Delusions, but none have been as anticipated as the meeting with MINDMISTRESS!
Never before have I used a Photoshop texture to detail a background, and I don't think I ever will again. I layed out the brick background as a template for the bricks I was going to draw, but I was satisfied with how they looked here, so I just left it.
It kinda looks like the girls are at the Improv, doesn't it?
Dasien: “I say, Double-M. A friend of mine went to the pet store and got a puppy for his kid.” Mindmistress: “A puppy for his kid, Dasien?” Dasien: “Yes, he said it was the best trade he ever made!” *Ba-Dum-Tsh!*
Yikes! She better keep a close shave with those holes... If I *had* to wear a costume like that, I'd certainly be looking for some kind of skirt to cover them. =p
The holes are purely aesthetic choices by me, because I didn't want it to be a solid suit. The ones that creep down toward her cotch were placed there for fun, obviously.
In the story, it's the suit's way of accounting for Dasien's body heat, which isn't tremendously high, but she can get a little sweaty if she's throwing a lot of cars.
They're not exactly very well placed, but nobody said that highly experimental biomech suits were intelligent.
(Quoting from the webcomicsnation alternative site...)
"To be perfectly honest, this whole exercise is an excuse to have MM and Dasien snipe at each other. Everything else is just gravy. *Grin*
"The original Human Torch and Namor. Thing and Torch. Torch and Spider-Man. Hawkman and Green Arrow. The best superhero meetings are not where they immediately fight, nor immediately become best buds. No, the BEST superhero meetings are between two superheroes who can't STAND each other, but have to work together anyway."
(And as I understand it, those holes are meant to be there. Something about its Crimson Gestalt origin keeps them where they should be and prevents wardrobe malfunction. Unfortunately for most male readers...)
Hmmm - has someone been cutting peep-holes in her costume? Or does she just have moths in her wardrobe?!
Cool page. Nice to see the girls getting along!
