And we're back! An afternoon update for you afternoon people.
Now that the heroes are through with their little meeting, they get a nice tour of the facilities. But it appears as though someone lurking in the shadows is about to make their afternoon a long one!
Hoo-boy! We've got some acknowledgments to get through. First of all, we'd like to thank the Red Death of Bad Guy High for giving us a shout-out yesterday.
ha ha ha... I knew they were selected merely for guard duty since the moment "Ringo" told them about the weapons vault dimension. All that talk about them being a perfect team was just empty flattery to get them to do it, lol.
Well, it's not COMPLETELY nanotech. There is an organic component to the suit, so it's not such a bunch of interlocking nano-bots. It's a weird living cloth, for lack of a better explanation. There are some nano-computers involved, but they're more there for memory.
Besides, the nano-machine thing is more prominent with the Crimson Gestalt, where they've actually been implanted. Dasien's piggy-backing some powers granted to her by the suit and making up for the rest of it with her own powers...which is why she doesn't fly very well.
But enough of that. If you suspect that this funny stuff between Das and Double-M might be going somewhere, well, then you better stick around!
The Osiristor? Yep. MM herself said it was the most advanced device she had ever developed. It involves EXTREME suspension of disbelief, but was fine to play around with.

...And actually, one consequence of that story will have some bearing on THIS story.
For that matter MM knows a quick way to get rid of a suit made for nanomachines...
http://mindmistress.comicgenesis.com/stolen33.htm ...but she'd never use it on Das. She thinks Das exposes too much as it is.
Oh, and Red Death? I agree completely about the MM/Dasien friction. It's like the original Human Torch and the Sub-Mariner, or Silver Age Human Torch and Spider-Man. Years ago, I sent Neil a Dasien fan art, that basically had the first snarkfest. And BOTH of us LOVED it.
The prior attire she was wearing is simply absorbed by the new costume, as stated here. When the suit withdraws, the previous attire returns. So, there's no naked time, like Al was thinking.
Now, I know there are logistical problems with clothing being jumbled up like that and reconstituted, but it's a cartoon, after all. Just enjoy the show!
It's FUTURE TECHNOLOGY! We don't have to explain it. Besides, doesn't Mindmistress have a reverse entropy gun, or something? I'm sure Al has me way beat in the suspension-of-disbelief category.
I really like the continued jabs between Dasien and Mindmistress. I've always thought even the most dramatic of storyline's should still always have at least a little comedy in them.
She doesn't have to shoult anything. She's just doing it to show off, as she does in a lot of other aspects of her superhero career.
The suit is able to react to any cue she desires. It's a living suit, but not the sort of neurological bond like you would have with the Venom suit. All of the Gestalt suits do that, actually. This is the first time I've ever had the opportunity to show it.
Well, second, technically. There was one other transformation scene, but Rouge knows how to do it without giving everyone a peep show.
So...what happens when someone shouts "Suit down!" or better yet, "Suit Off"?? Does it ONLY do it for Das' voice, or is it not that discriminatory?
All sorts of comedic opportunites here. Even if it IS just her voice, what if she says, "That lawsuit off in that far country...GYYAAAHHH!!! Stop staring, you pervs!"

Splitting up, that's the worst thing you can do in a horror movie.

What happens to the clothing Das wears when she "suits up"? I believe that was a Twilight Sister-hand in the last panel..
