Time for some more Drunk Duck site history boys and girls!
Way back in October 2010 when the Drunk Duck site was still scheduled for a layout change. Wowio, the current owners, got a guy named Matt Schuler to draw a whole bunch of new “key art” stuff with Duck and Quail. It was intended to be used all over the site for various sections but unfortunately that never came to be.
As we all know the whole site layout project sadly crashed and burned about a year later, and apart from the “duck” reference in the site name all traces of our cuddly Duck and Quail duo was eliminated.
In their place we instead got the new “502 gateway” mascot who appears unannounced on the site ever so often, and it doesn't have quite the same appeal.

lol, it's actually true that the "502 gateway" sign has been the new mascot. I agree, it would have been a really nice touch, I would have loved to see those drawings in their respective sections.

It's a pity. It would have greatly added to the site's charm and - who knows - it might even have been a welcome distraction from the colouring scheme. ;) By the way: the bottom middle one actually was in use a few times, wasn't it?

Those are great and could have added a lot of character to the site. Really too bad we didn't get a chance to see them in action.
