Man I did this digitally in a new program , clip art studio, been trying it before but never commited 100% but this time i gave it a shot- but it took me aages. Don't think ill do the lineart digitally again, takes too long. Ink is definately ‘faster’.
The girl with the orange hair is a re-used character from one of my first comics, which were about two lesbian pirates… She sort of fit into the science fiction genre nicely as she's a snake-person!
Thank you, i think its hard to come up with outfits especially predicting outfits 740ish years into the future. In this particular universe there's still 'old school' items playing into their lives because while having a full sci-fi comic with fancy tech would be too easy in this particular story. Also they come from different cultures which is why some of the crew still work with clubs and rags while others machine guns or super advanced digitally operated crossbows.
I love the outfits on this page! Especially Angel's
I do all my linework in Clip Studio paint. I think the pen tools are great, but the coloring tools are baffling. I do all my colors in Photoshop.
What don't you like with the coloring systems? I guess I could try photoshop for colors next time, usually use Painttool SAI but it crashes with images over certain dpi and I was tired of spending my days 'eck'ing every time it started 'slowing down' and i've lost countless of pages because I decided to work on the backgrounds and added too many things...Its not my pc cause never happens in other programs. In my opinion Clip art worked BUT maybe it was a bit slow. Especially for background-coloring. I like the brushes way better than in photoshop!
