1-2: Priorities First

That has nothing to do with anything, anyway.

So, I should probably point out that he's using tongs here. I didn't really draw them very well - it's been years since I've actually held some chemistry tongs, and a Google Image search was only good enough to get the basic understanding of how to use it them with a crucible. Not how to actually HOLD them. Sooo yeah.

Anyway, so now we see a bit of the introvert in Gary. It's not that he's antisocial, it's just that he's really into alchemy.

And people get in the way of that.

I'd basically figured Gary and his little friend would be the dual sides to alchemy. Gary is largely the physical side, dealing with the practicality of transmutation and other such effects, while the imp is the spiritual side, trying to seek meaning in the Great Work. Ideally, a real alchemist should be BOTH, so I'm hoping ol' Gary gets it through his skull if he wants to really achieve anything.

Fonts used in this comic are more limited than Melody & Macabre. The title is a strange font I found here on Windows Vista called AR ESSENCE, and the dialogue and copyright are simply Arial. I'm considering making a home-brewed font for the dialogue, to give it a personal touch. If anybody knows any really good free font makers, let me know.
