I've had some of the same ideas.
Monty, you have a unique and revolutionary set of transformations, and an aptitude for *all* kinds of tech. A traditional approach is inappropriate.
Don't give up before trying! Use your imagination, you could keep an Optimus Prime trailer in hammerspace for all the stuff you *can't* do yourself.
And now that I think about it, we know he's capable of partial transformations (like with his tool hand), so maybe he could transform his lower body into something tall, and just use his normal hands to turn the knob/handle?
With his penchant for machines, I'm sure he could figure out even better ways to do it if he actually spent any time focusing on it as a technical problem instead of a social one (which is kind of at the core of the issue I think - as long as he believes he can't do it, he won't try, which means he won't find a solution).
Of course, he really shouldn't *have* to find a solution for this; society should fix things so that things are accessible for Pooka in general. Unfortunately, that's not likely to happen with any speed...
A door-opening "machine" shouldn't be all that difficult to make, actually, given that it doesn't need to move into position first (he can do that before transforming)... He would need to be able to transform into something tall enough, but his motorcycle impression indicates that that shouldn't be a problem.
For the handle-type door opener, you only need two movements - up/down (a powered angle joint would be good enough), and back/forth (wheels might work, or a linear actuator... actually, even a sideways angle joint could work, depending on where he placed himself).
For the knob type, one more movement is needed, to grip it (e.g. a closable 3-prong gripper (kind of like a hand), with appropriate high-friction inner surface), and replace the up/down movement with rotation.
Actually, I'm not sure if the gripper would really need to be closeable, maybe the back-forth motion could cause enough pressure friction for him to get enough of a grip to turn it.
@magicalmisfits beep beep destroy all the humans! Beep beep! hahhaa just kidding. But... i think that's more safe morph on something more big with claws... a dragon? a Equiline? A pony? a lawyer?
@MM: I'm completely guessing, but I suspect that's not possible. If Monty has a limit such as "The more truely moving parts there are, the harder it is to change into", a proper robot form becomes unusable. Using his Motor Bike form as an example, it, technically, only needs three moving parts (the wheels and the handlebars). Everything else doesn't need to move, as Monty can control these three parts of himself directly. Heck, we can see this as being Monty's equivalent to the nervous system restraint that made Boo change to the "Bat-Pooka" form to fly with in your own Magical Misfits comic.
