Resurrection - This Time For Real (and Character Sheet Thumbnails)

PaulEberhardt on July 12, 2014

Hi everybody! It seems like I'm finally back, this time for real.

I'm sorry for my long absence. A few months ago I still clung to the belief that I could resume work on this comic soon, but Life, as usual, begged to disagree. Things had gone topsy-turvy for some time, but I think I've managed to get back in control by now. This involved a move to the UK for a few months, to Gloucester to be precise, which among other things meant that I couldn't take all my art equipment with me but only a basic drawing kit. I outlined the full story in my DA journal: fav.me/d7qbv03
Even so, I managed to finish a few coloured pictures and scan them before I left, and now I finally feel up to continuing the comic. It feels good to do this again - it was as if a part of my very soul had gone missing during the first half of this year.
I'll start with posting one of the character sheets you can see in this overview each day, as some kind of countdown, and then continue with updates that may turn out to be a bit irregular, but at least are already prepared, so I can safely say that they'll be there eventually. I'm drawing some more new stuff as well.
These character sheets were one of the projects I really wanted to get on with. Seeing that five years of Master the Tiger produced an archive containing well over 200 infinite-canvas pages (I've got a special celebration page ready that'll follow immediately afterwards), I think I really needed to do something to help new readers get into the whole thing. In the long run, i.e. when the page of my own I wanted to build but haven't even started with goes online in the still rather distant future, they will replace this wall-of-text foreword on page 2 that I've never been comfortable with anyway.
I believe they may be of some interest for the veteran readers among you, as well. They feature some background info in what I hope is in a comprehensive way, that I couldn't include as prominently in the comic as I'd have liked to so far. Some of the remarks may or may not be setups for stories to come, too (hint! hint!). Last but not least, I'm very much interested in the opinions of you who already know my characters quite well.
Thanks to all of you who find their way back and comment. And thanks to those who just happened to find this comic, too. God knows I missed you!
