fan art and good news

I've actually forgotten who sent me this because I've had it in storage for too long. I wanted to put it up sooner, but shame stopped me. Shame at how utterly terrible I am to you lot. I hang my head in SHAME. So if you drew this please send me a PM to remind me who you are, cause I suck and can't remember where I got sent this from let alone who.
But besides my being a complete and utter failure as a human being I have good news for you all! I have decided to ignore the fact that I have art block and decided to do a graphic novel for my final project in my degree! Mainly because when three of your four lecturers tell you to do something…. well, it just seems kind of silly to argue with them when they're marking it.
So yes, I'm now going to be drawing a graphic novel, and also another webcomic. BECAUSE I HATE MYSELF.
But I'm sure your little voices will be chiming out “How is that good news? We want you to be drawing NPC not some lame new thing we probably wont like!” Simply because right now I'd rather be drawing NPC then doing my school work. I sure have my priorities straight don't I?
So yeah, I'm going to at least try and draw this again, while I'm trying to draw another comic, and trying to draw a graphic novel. I guess because I'm a glutton for punishment, and at this point you lot should be beating me with whips and chains, because I deserve that level of punishment for making you wait this long with no news.
So hopefully in the next week I will put up a new page and with it a link to my new site, (strange that a university project gets its own website, but NPC is stuck on drunkduck…. maybe once I get the hang of this I'll make use of the domain name my brother has kept for me. ^^() )
But also I will be needing a little help from you! my little darlings, my patient, wonderful, beautiful little darlings. While it should probably be financial help again, because I'm going to be wracking up more debt…. la sigh~ instead I'm going to ask for something out of your delicious brains!
The thing is…. I don't read graphic novels…. or know really anything about them…. I mean… I've read V for Vendetta, and I've read the Watchmen, and Mous. But… really I don't know anything about the publishing process to make one, or the people you have to know, blah blah blah. I'm going to the literacy fair in london, and so hopefully I may learn more there…. hopefully! So, I'm going to trust most of you know probably more about this than me. So if you know anything about the process of making a graphic novel, or if you know someone who works in the industry who wouldn't mind talking to me… or you know, anything helpful, because I need to find these people for a paper and write stuff on a subject I know barely anything about, boohoohoohoo for me.
please send me an e-mail at: patchworkchickie@gmail.com rather than my True_hearted e-mail address. It's just so I don't lose the information so easily ^^().

I just have this to say... THAT'S UTTERLY PREPOSTEROUS!!!!! You are hardly the first artist to have to put a comic on hiatus because of obligations in real life, nor will you be the last. University generates an absurd amount of work at the best of times, so no wonder you can't find the time to update! There are only 24 hours in a day, and the most waking hours you can stretch out without sustainably without damaging yourself is about 17-19, so if you don't have time, you don't have time. In any event, us reading your comic is a privilege, not a right, so you need feel no obligation towards us to keep updating, let alone shame for not doing so. So let's have an end to this silliness, update if you have time, don't if you don't, and don't feel ashamed about it if you can't and lose sight of the fact that what you do gives us joy and entertainment!

Don't be too hard on yourself. If you want to draw more NPC, I want to read it, but you should be doing this for your own enjoyment.

Oh right, what it's about xD It's going to be more dramatic than NPC...... A lot more dramatic... basically a very dark fantasy story about the antagonist of the larger story, and his life and basically the reason why when he's presented with the one person he hates more than anything in the world, he is a complete and utter evil bastard. So basically it's a back story for the graphic novel's villain. But I'm sure if you squint a bit, you can just pretend it's Deme. It depresses me just a little bit how many similarities the two are going to have. They both hate the emperor of the world, who ruined their lives and whose involvement in conquering the world lead to them becoming the bitter and twisted individuals that they are. They're both elves. (Because there must be one in every fantasy novel o.< and screw it I love elvish bad guys.) Though Jyrus doesn't have access to arcane abilities beyond anyone's imagination. He's more of a dramatically slaughter a person to pieces with his sword kind of guy. Though when he is presented with the person he hates most in the world, instead of killing him he decides to screw with him instead. Because he's a little more complicated than that. But uh yeah.... sort of more the same sort of thing... but grittier, less emphasis on humor and more on story. Though it'll probably still have humor in it, simply because I don't think I can write anything without a little glimmer of humor in there. But yeah.... if you like fantasy story's about not very nice people, you'll probably like it... It's got some similarities with NPC. But I just put that down to the genre. Oh, and the protagonist of the graphic novel is the emperor, who has amnesia. So as you can imagine, fun times when they meet in the story. Many FUUUUN FUUUN times. it's like someone has given Jyrus the best birthday present in the world.

Ohh! UPDATE! And the possibility of the comic continuing because you think it a better distraction that schoolwork and a second webcomic (that you didn't give any details about, so I have no oppinion on whether or not I'll like it). I am concerned about this "new webcomic" however. Not because it'll distract you from NPC (I think that it might, honestly, have the OPPOSITE effect), but because seeing your recent track record with NPC, you might not update, thus increasing the number of people who are irritated at you for not updating.
