Today's post is really important, and it would be great if you could read through the entire thing. Future updates and possible hiatuses for the comic are addressed, and you need to know what's going on. If you want to get to the bare bones of the matter, skip to the fourth indented paragraph of this news post.

Wow. Even with two weeks to work on a page I barely managed to get it done in time, and even then I cut a few corners. If you will please disregard the sudden absence of clouds, the shoddy shading and background jobs, I might actually fool you into thinking I've created a page of the same quality I've been churning out these past few weeks.
This is because–surprise, surprise–I've been incredibly busy. For those of you who don't yet know, I'm staying with my sister in Ohio until the end of July this summer. While my 20-month old nephew is perfectly angelic and can amuse himself for hours, throwing another baby into the mix can be somewhat overwhelming. This is where I come in: I was desperately needed to watch little Scottie while my sister was off at the hospital giving birth to a little girl, whenever it happened.

And behold! Sophia Rose was born May 7th at 8:15 AM!
She is seriously the most beautiful baby I have ever seen. I've never held an infant that young or small. She's perfect in every way. The little faces she makes and her little toes and fingers… simply adorable. She had some lung problems for the first day or so, but that's a common concern with infants born during C-section. A vaginal birth forces all the fluids out of the lungs as it passes the pelvis, forcing the baby to take that first breath as it comes into the world; with a C-section, that obviously doesn't happen so the lungs need a little more time to adjust. But she's doing fine now; she's a healthy color and crying like a normal baby should.

ANYWAY.
What does this mean for the comic? Obviously I don't have as much free time to devote to it as I once did, and I don't want to give you half-butt pages like this one. The way I see it, I have one of three options.
1. HIATUS = until the beginning of August, after I move into my house back at school with my totally smokin' friends. This is the route I would least like to take, but is reserved as a last resort nonetheless. If 1Q went on hiatus, though, that would mean that Daisy and Moira and Roy would start updating again, because I need to be doing something artistic this summer to keep myself in shape.
2. DELAYED UPDATES = updates would spread out to once every two or three weeks. Though you would have to wait a little longer for your pages, they would be forthcoming. DMR would probably update once or twice.
3. ASSISTED COLORIST = would help me by doing half the work. I'll admit, I really want to do this part all by myself because I've been waiting to do this scene for six years, but if I want to keep a regular schedule I'll have to suck it up. The pages I'd really been wanting to do I'd color myself and make it work in time for regular updates. I have one particular person in mind, but I still need to talk to her about it (She probably knows who she is from just reading this— and don't worry, Waz, I know how busy you are, I won't suck you into working on my stuff. XD).

Again, I'll keep you posted as to how things turn out. I don't want to leave you in the dark.
Don't forget, you can discuss today's page in the forums with both me and other people who read the comic. ;)

Cheeko out.
