News:
Ah, I’ve just updated Pink Skin, my Pinky TA spin-off comic. (Silly humour).
Ah, I’m tired…

Page description:
We cut to Cc, swimming along in the wake of Pinky’s S.S.V.5. A very long way behind it actually ^_^
It’s night now and Cc has timed her swim, her course and kept the currents and tide in mind so that she knows the round about moment when to signal for her planned rendezvous. She uses her pistol with a flare gun attachment.

Commentary:
More underwater scenes, these aren’t quite as convincing, but I liked the view of cc’s swimming body as she moves through the ocean. Her little breathing mask was based on something in Ghost in the Shell I think… The tiny canisters are meant to have highly compressed breathable gas in there. Enough for AGES! The reality of something like that is rather tenuous I think: To have gas enough to breathe for a few hours of strenuous swimming compressed into that tiny volume would mean it’d probably have to be solid and therefore very, very, cold. Or else just under such high pressure that the amount of material required to encase it would mean the whole exercise in compression would be pointless to her… Lets just say it’s really, really clever tech and that the canisters are made out of super hard iridium, and the valves of the mask are so damn clever that only a teeny seepage of body temperature warm breathable gasses are released- so they don’t just explode in her face and turn her head into a snap frozen iceblock! Hahaha!
The pistol is another interesting facet: A flare gun attachment on an automatic pistol. As far as I know it hasn’t been done, but you could actually do it. It’s not difficult or complicated. And if the barrel is tough enough, you could also fire small shotgun cartridges or grenades, (you need very strong wrists!).

Writer's challenge!
We’ve started up a weekly writer’s challenge in the forums. Each week writers try writing a short fanfic based on the characters of a DD comic we choose for that week. The first comic is Two Moons. See the details and entries here. It’s a fun way to practise your writing ^_^

A note:
Go to my main site for the latest work (27th January, 2006). I’m uploading one page a day with commentary and explanations here.
