With production picking up I thought I'd start throwing in a third page every week. So here's the next splash page. This two panel splash page also combines about five panels of back and forth in the earlier version. Originally there was a whole bit with the priestess reading from a scroll. The pose didn't work for some reason so the pictures were unconvincing so it was all cut.
The priestess in white is the current version of Elsa, high priestess of Annah. Annah the Golden is goddess of lightning, magic, inspiration and righteous vengeance. The guy holding the sword is priest of Manimir, the king of the gods and the god of kings. Say, what's with the -mir? Falkimir, Manimir? That suffix mean something? It denotes an adult male of noble birth in Elegon. It's taken from the Narthan word for highness or majesty.
Nice sword huh? It is built like a real sword with the hilt and a central bar with laminated strips of plastic filed to shape glued over that for the blade. The inscription was carved with a scribing tool(like a dental pick but sharper)
Now remember the Drunk Duck awards! Vote early and vote often! When in doubt Transneptunian or The Godstrain That's Trans-nep-tunian and it's THE Godstrain Got to have that sweep. Actually though, vote for what deserves the award. What creator has gone out and really achieved something special and put it up for you to read? That's the person who gets my vote. And every year when the nominations are announced I usually end up with a half dozen new comics in my favorites.
That is some fancy toothpick ya got there! As newly elected king, his first act should be to forgive all his own debts, and every man taller than he is should be de-shinned. It's what I would do.
Well at least here he's still a European. I routinely re-watch Wayne movies a lot so imagining his swagger and speech as Falkimir is easy for me. I also do a fair imitation so I can even recite the dialogue. ;)
It's John Wayne. No one stands taller even if they are taller in stature, he's larger than life just by his presence. Which is why I cast John Wayne as Falkimir.
Wonderful page!! Very nice sword!! I like how you make the cloth appear normal size (most small replicas don't fold right). (prev page - yeah I've been known to not comment on a page... some creators mass-post several pages at once, and while I'll read them all, I'll only comment on the most recent, but I'll sometimes allude to the previous pages...) ;)

The sword has a water elemental look to it. Beautiful work

That was a pretty quick call to election.

It was done through magical sending and teleportation. The will of the gods made itself manifest overnight.

Well it is the title of the comic. ;)

John Wayne as a faux-Nordic king? Might as well have him play Genghis Khan!

No starch. Wet the fabric, crumble it up, spread it out and let it dry. ;)
