Jill and Frank go into the Drunken Sally bar. The name is totally random. The bartender could be Sally for all it matters. The bartender has an attempt at a hair style with the long locks of hair framing the face. Look closely and you'll notice she has a tail.
The two “NO” signs are a grey human figure for NO GREY GUYS and a paw for NO FURRIES. The animus against furries will be explained. Once upon a time in the disant past there were all types of genetic modification done to humans including fad and fashion and that included various subcultures like furries. That resulted in a whole range of subspecies who conducted their own space colonization because of racial hatred directed at humans “less than human”. When normal humans encountered them again there was war of extermination. Pretty dark days back then.
Genetic modifciations also included the grey guys, carniverous humans (vampires), elves, little people for work in confined spaces and anything else imaginable to include large green guys with anger management issues.
Some of the bar inhabitants are to hint at future story ideas. A Star Trek-typical DA reader (El Cid?) mentioned Planet of the Apes on a previous comic and so I bought a pile of ape figures. They are not considered furries as they were not a genetic modification of humans but a parallel evolutionary development on another planet.

Those are cool Planet of the Apes figures! Great cameo! Of course, no cameo is as great as the HULK! I love that bastard!

Another television reference! He was only DAVID in the television show.

Even better...!:)

The barkeep calls him Dave and that could be shorthand for David Bruce Banner. Marvel characters have a habit of traveling in space so it really could be Hulk doing some moonlighting. ;-)

Great Bar scene! The Hulk..?!?! ohboyohboyohboy!! (I know he's not really supposed to be the Hulk but still... :). I keep hearing comedian Ron White's story of how he got thrown out of a bar in New York City!

AND the apes are from the 1970s television show. Quite like the movies with some exceptions. And I recognize the "M" costume. It was never really made clear as to what rank this gorilla held. He is referred to in a couple of episodes as captain and in others as commander.

Green-on-Grey crime. What has the universe come to!
