And it's not Spock who takes care of the dog, but Cadet Nakkar. She is the Diamorian who joined up with Aura back in around page 82. Aura being a veteran of the last Aordian-Diamorian War doesn't like or trust Diamorians at all, but relents in Nakkar's case once Nakkar appeals to her as a fellow mother. Diamorians generally have unnatural hair colors and to us would appear Asiatic. Aordians generally instil fear into their children by threatening them with being kidnapped by the Diamorians. The Aordians and Diamorians have a war roughly every generation or so. The last peace was over a century before a truly vicious war broke out. Atrocities have always been common in their wars but the last one was truly horrorific.

As a rule Diamorians do not use stun. You don't stun an enemy you kill him unless you wish to get information or intend to make him suffer. Or so the propaganda goes. But behind all propaganda there is some kernal of truth.

Look carefully and you'll see that Aura is having trouble keeping her top on right. She will be changing later.
