The Cull - Colour Update!
Singring on Jan. 17, 2016
Those of you who have been following this comic for a long time will notice that this is not a new page - in fact it's the second page of the comic, but now in full colour!
I've been getting to grips with my graphic table/monitor over the past couple of weeks and have decided that I'm comfortable enough with it (just about) that I'm going to take the leap and make The Cull a full colour comic. I have a fondness for the style I've used so far, but on the other hand I also want to push myself and colours are something I'm still learning about as I go along.
So bear with me as I transition - the new page (in colour!) is almost done, but I kind of got ahead of myself in recolouring this old page to try out the tablet. I hope the new page will go live within the next three days or so, but until then, let me know what you think of the colour palette and whether this is what you imagined the world of the cull to look like in colour!

@Kim: I hear you! I had a real fondness for the desaturated look so far and in some ways I'd like to continue it...but then again I think if I can improve my skills in colouring I can make the comic even better. There is going to be an awkward transition period where I'm finding my way with the colours (it is tricky!), especially since I don;t really have time to play around with palettes for ages to see which ones work best etc. But over time I think I'll get to the stage where I can combine the effectiveness of the past look with colours (at least that's my hope!) Hope you enjoy the new page!

It looks really fantastic! However, your grayscale (and any grayscale when done by an expert) had such a dynamic quality that seems be lost when moved to color! I liked the effect so much I tried to emulate it (but couldn't pull it off like you can). Still, color brings something that grayscale can't...! You won't go wrong with either - I know I'll enjoy either! No matter what, I look forward to your foray into color!
