Hm, do I need to post a link to the comic from two years ago? I might. Sorry, guys. Chapter's not over yet.

A life for a life.

The question we ask is: Is she actually going to die?
The questions we ask to answer this may be: Why is only Goro here if she is about to die? Why didn't any of the Doctors think that she might have pushed herself beyond her limits? Can magical exhaustion actually kill you that easily in this world?
Many of us are going: She is too good a character, and has developed too much, to die so suddenly.
The other possible answer is: Just because we know the character and care about them, doesn't mean that they will be kept alive. Just because the character's story can continue, doesn't mean that it will. This IS a story about doctors, and a likely ending to the story can easily be "a person with a highly infectious and fatal disease walks in. Even if they manage to cure the person, the skills required to do so are so diverse that they cannot cure themselves. All of the Dragon Doctors die under quarintine."

"What -is- worth throwing your life away for?"
(Although it looks like it was at least a few days after they met rather than the same day based off activities going on.)
And Sarin had mentioned that when he woke up it was naked and confused, so likely no stealth suit for Tanica.

Well.. i don't think she dies. Perhaps it is meant that her treeform will die and she will be reborn?

Or she could be dying. I was afraid of that.

I wonder how well her clothes have been preserved under that bark ;-)
