Continuing experiment with heavier pen w. liquid black/blue watercolor shadowing and fills…
,
I looked up a product called ‘Hammer Glass’ and there's videos of it taking bullets and sledgehammer blows without giving much at all - pretty impressive, so therefore I deem the glass windows and walls of this facility are made of something like that.
.
Eli, being gigantic, breaks through the glass with relative ease, while Kimber Lee cannot (plus, the section Eli broke thru was more damaged by crashing copter debris). Kimber Lee's likely strong enough to break through the glass, but as the soldier so helpfully pointed out, she has no leverage (nice of him, considering what she did to him a few pages back - or maybe he realizes the ‘direness’ of the situation and hopes she can help…)
.
As always, I likely missed on some of the physics of all this, as well as what military units would ‘really do’ in such a situation. Also a bit inconsistent on on Eli's size… but I'm trying ;) Hopefully it doesn't take from the story!
.
Thanks for Reading Everyone!

This reminds me a tiny bit of that scene in Ghostbusters with the dough boy.

@barry: if she does it'll just be a lateral move!
BarryCorbett at 7:34AM, April 24, 2015
In the old Superman comics they used to show the decades flying past him like floating headlines. Guess he had a Forward and Reverse setting. I hope Kimber Lee can break through the Glass Ceiling…er, panel.

@Peipei: think fast - then do fast!!
Peipei at 6:36PM, April 23, 2015
This has got to be torture for Kim to have to watch her family helplessly like that...Think fast, girl friend!
KimLuster at 4:49AM, April 23, 2015
@ghosty: really? What were they made of?
KimLuster at 4:49AM, April 23, 2015
@Bravo: Yeah they are about that desperate!! About the 'reverse rotation' think from the Superman movie - I got curious and looked it up and read 'fanbois' defending it; they said the backward rotation is NOT the earth really going spinning in reverse, but that Superman is flying so fast (faster than light) that time is actually going backward from HIS perspective, so it's HIM that's seeing the earth spin backwards, as it would in reversed time... Made sense in a loose Sci-fi way, but they didn't really have an answer for why he flew fast back the other way to get the earth to spin the correct way again...! I am amused when watching people debate sci-fi ;)

@plymayer: especially if she hits a weak spot, like she's eyeing in the last two panels...!

Desperate for heavy weapons soldiers go tearing through the barracks for cans of hair spray. Great action here. And the black and white is really working. Reversing the spin of planets doesn't make time go in reverse. That would mean that time is going backwards on Venus and Uranus. I think the variations in Eli's size could be an effect of the Godstrain. It is so unnatural to begin with, it could fluctuate eerily as you watch him.
plymayer at 11:09PM, April 22, 2015
She may be able to "think" herself the ability to break the glass.
KimLuster at 5:08PM, April 22, 2015
@tupapayon: Yeah baby yeah!!

Time travel is always messy… only Superman could pull it off… or Austin Powers…
KimLuster at 11:53AM, April 22, 2015
@Banes: Thank you! So I take it you like this new look (it's likely temporary - just like everything else I do haha)...? Ya know, even as a kid (who also loved the rest of the movie), I remember thinking that it was kind of an ass-pull Superman being able to do that...! And when he did go back in time, were't those nuclear missiles still coming...? Shouldn't he have have to stop them again...? I also wondered why his parents-voices-in-the-clouds warn him not to do it but when he did do it... it sorta worked out (shows all the good it does to listen to parents - that's the lesson I learned from the movie...:))...
Banes at 11:37AM, April 22, 2015
That was a rough moment in the Superman movie, much as I love most of that flick! Wow, this is another intense page! Adding in all that additional darkness (shadow) looks fantastic. I love the "damn you, Eli" panel. Dyin' to see what happens next! I'm glad to hear Kim's not going to spin the Earth backward! Although, in a dream-centric story, maybe she could...NO! NO!
KimLuster at 8:17AM, April 22, 2015
@Tom: Well then she could just fly around the earth, make it spin backwards and reverse time, and all this will be avoided ;) (God I hated it when Superman did that }:))

Better be quick Kim or your family's going to be lunch!
