Sorry for the delay in this page, but I've been busy making an entry for VinoMas' Summer Pageant, which I heartily recommend checking out and maybe getting involved in.
.
I'm also involved in a project that'll be covered in Genejoke's new We are the Duck comic! I'm itching for it to be revealed, as it's a most creative artistic enterprise, and was a LOT of FUN!
.
So… this page… Mama Bear strikes…! I guess we see where Kimber Lee gets it from… Mrs. Mama Luster's stance is admirable, but was it smart? Shall the touchy-feely moment stand or be deconstructed? Or will something else come along first?
.
Artwise, I'm purposefully being more free and bold - just letting the paint do what paint do! Is it noticeable?
.
And there's a lot of text again - please don't hesitate to point out any typos (as I've been known to drop a few here and there) and I'll correct them!
.
Thanks for Reading Everyone!

Lovely page. Nice to see so many different opinions and the last couple of panels were really moving. As for typos,I'm always making them and not noticing until just after I update! lol

@Szyszk: Yeah follow Mom's example hopefully!
Szyszka666 at 4:34AM, June 21, 2015
I love the mother and daughter bonding here. I hope now they're going to support Kim.
KimLuster at 4:08AM, June 19, 2015
@Peipei: Exactly! Or at least be hopeful and wait and see...!
KimLuster at 4:07AM, June 19, 2015
@Strix: Thanks - toughest job in history too :D
Peipei at 8:58PM, June 18, 2015
Mom's got a good head on her shoulders! Socorro is indeed still alive, can't they thank Kim for that?
strixvanallen at 8:35PM, June 18, 2015
Moms. Better things in history. And I loved the colours here. :3
KimLuster at 4:27AM, June 18, 2015
@:Paul: Indeed - Thank You!
KimLuster at 4:27AM, June 18, 2015
@VinoMas: Thank you - I will!!
PaulEberhardt at 3:49AM, June 18, 2015
That's the part that always more than makes up for their treating you as if you were still twelve. ;) I like the dynamics of this page. It fits the dialogue very well.

I'm advertising Kimber Lee's paper doll on Drunk Duck @ Facebook! Check it out! :)
KimLuster at 4:05PM, June 17, 2015
@Banes: Thank You So Much :D ...I have some experience with that 'Mama' thing ;)
Banes at 10:32AM, June 17, 2015
Very cool to hear this is a more free process - ironically the definition is really strong; everything looks nice and solid. Love this style. I like the experimentation but this looks the best to me. As for Mom stepping up for Kim - I literally had tears in my eyes there! Well done!!
KimLuster at 9:59AM, June 17, 2015
@FC: Thanks - this is actually the edited version lol!
KimLuster at 9:58AM, June 17, 2015

KimLuster at 9:58AM, June 17, 2015

tupapayon at 8:01AM, June 17, 2015
Now, child, go kick some ass...
fallopiancrusader at 7:06AM, June 17, 2015
Yes, there's a lot of text, but your sharp cinematography creates a good sense of urgency in this scene.
KimLuster at 4:04AM, June 17, 2015
@bravo: What I just said to Sway... Ditto!
KimLuster at 4:04AM, June 17, 2015
@Sway: Your thoughtful responses are always a joy to read - Thank You!
KimLuster at 4:03AM, June 17, 2015
@plymayer: I almost wondered if it was a bit too sweet..!

Mothers know. There's that mother's instinct that they just know who to trust and what is right and wrong. Or at least the women who commit themselves to that instinct instead of abandoning it in a dumpster. But that's a whole other can of worms. Letting yourself be bold and free with your art is the best way to do it. Let the medium show you what it is capable of instead of constraining it. That illusion of control often leads to frustration and being displeased with the finished product.

Really nice writing and character work here. And I'm definitely feeling the more loose approach to the painting; I think it gives the artwork a little more energy (not that it wasn't effective to begin with). I can say from personal experience that playing a little more free with your artwork can really help take some of the stress off of working on each page, and it feels like more "fun" seems to come out of my work as a result.
plymayer at 9:28PM, June 16, 2015
How sweet.
