The Godstrain Manifestation asks Kimber Lee to start telling how things started, and then takes over, talking about ‘Entangled Photons’… Well, that is an interesting subject. Google it if you're further interested - the basics are glossed over here. Einstein hated the idea of entanglement - he co-authored the famous EPR Paper in an attempt to show that it made no frickin' sense…!! But he was wrong - it has been shown to be a real phenomenon, over and over and over.
The timeless nature of a photon (time slows as something approaches the speed of light, but since a photon travels exactly at the speed of light, time appears to come to a standstill, from its perspective). We can't fully know what that would be like (well maybe some of you can…), I likened that to Thomas Nagel's article What is it like to be a bat. The ‘bat’ article is more about consciousness, particularly how modern reductionist theories attempt to reduce the mind to just physical processes, but fail to account for consciousness, ie. what it is like to ‘Be’ a conscious being…
Okay I'll stop now - El Cid does sciences blurbs much better than I do anyway. Still, if anyone thinks any of the ‘science’ in my comic pages are wrong, feel free to say so and I'll attempt to defend it (I enjoy debating!).
In the meantime, now that I'm M-rated, we have golden nipples…!

This is all pretty deep stuff and it's going to take me a long while to get my head around it but it's fascinating and intriguing just the same!

@Niccea: Wow...!! Thanks so much everyone that nominated this comic for a category!! It's so hard to express my appreciate - I feel so honored!! All I can say is if you like what I'm doing that gives me so much energy, desire to keep going, and try to keep getting better!! This story does have an end, but I'm not in a hurry to get there, that's for sure!!

@Paul: Thank You! You know, the deeper we delve into quantum theory, the more inextricably linked reality and consciousness seem to be, so that quote may be more truthful that we can imagine... (or when we can imagine it, it transforms into something more than we can imagine... weirdness abounds!!) It's fascinating... and honestly more than a bit troubling!! And Nope, with that last panel, it's not just you... a few made that analogy, incl. the author ;D!!

I've heard about this entanglement thingy, and when I did I put it into the category: "It is often said that whenever anyone comes close to figuring out the universe it collapses to be instantly replaced by something weirder and more complicated - others say this has already happened." (I think I quoted Douglas Adams there, but I'm too lazy to google it ;) ) Anyway, awesome page. I love how you did the We-Are-the-Godstrain-Kimber's slyly smiling expressions. And is it just me or does the last panel remind me of a detail from Michealangelo's "Creation of Man"?

@bravo: Ha I never thought of 'A Christmas Carol' analogy but you mentioning it - it certainly is an apt one!! And yeah, this is sci-fi, but I don't want it to become sci-fantasy so gotta have at least a nod to real physics... I guess L:D

A fascinating glimpse into some concepts I've never heard of. Loving it! I also caught the image-reference in the last panel, which is certainly appropriate. But this is not a God that inspires unquestioning trust I daresay. Second FC's wish to see Alfred E. Neuman, if only to see you draw him (you'd surely pull it off beautifully, though I don't know how you'd fit it into your story...)

@El Cid: I don't even know if you need the backwardness of tachyons to make that theory plausible. A photon is 'timeless' - it's amazing where you can go, where you can be, what you can do, all at the same 'time', when you don't experience time!! I'm curious what you'll think of the next couple pages...!
