Hey everyone I've been traveling for several days so my posting is sporadic! I pre-posted this page for this date…
Yeah, this is a very wordy page, but Kimber Lee had a lot to say… She's awfully confident if she think she can control someone like Jack Caleb, but… perhaps she really has a reason to be confident!! I'll let you decide if this was a bad decision on her part (esp. in light of what Jack did with her parents…!
If she can keep him under her thumb, he would be useful, as she so deftly laid out!!
Still, Jack hasn't exactly agree yet!!
Next page will Post Thursday June 16. At some point I will post maybe every four days to get the rest of pages in by Aug. It WILL be COMPLETE by then *wink wink*

I feel a duel to the death fast approaching!! Interesting dilemma for sure. I have to say that Caleb does not fill me with the same fear and dread that Eli did at times. There were many pages earlier in the story where Eli made another appearance and I felt a knot in my stomach just by looking at his sheer size and knowing how evil his mind was. But maybe Jack will surprise us all and use his taste of the Godstrain to giant up too, who knows, but I have the feeling this could be a showdown worthy of anything we've seen so far.

Yeah, Kimber Lee 'created' both Eli and Jack (her power transforming them to how her subconscious mind saw them) and she certainly had a much deeper child-hood fear and so he was much scarier!! Overall, I wonder if Jack might be the most dangerous, however...

Oddly enough, I kind of hear a very old song called "Hit the road, Jack, and don't you come back..." being played back in my head. Could it be because it'd be a good summary of Kim's terms? He's still quite full of himself, and why shouldn't he? I wonder how Kim plans on convincing him.

Even if he agrees to her terms it's just a delaying game. A stall tactic. He'll eventually go back on it. She knows it.

Maybe she does know he eventually will... Maybe she just needs him to be genuine for a little while (and she'd know if he is or not) :)

@Banes As I understand it neither of them can successfully lie to the other. Seems like he genuinely is that overconfident.

Jack seems confident. But is he actually confident, or is he acting? The smart play would be for him to agree, and pretend it's begrudging. That's what I suspect here - that he's trying to appear confident, but will agree. But how can Kim possibly trust him? And what about the "little people" who will suffer under this megalomaniac's shenanigans?

True that! Ya know... the Godstrain, right before Kimber Lee suppressed it, warned her that a more 'holistic' vision of reality would creep in, overpowering her humanity... Could that mean 'God's eye' views where individual lives mean less...?!! Let hope not (and, if so, is subject matter for a Godstrain II)

You're right! That's the kind of compromise that might have to happen if this story really happened. Assuming Jack agrees to this, it could be an intriguing theme if Godstrain 2 happens - power ... And absolute power, and that corrupting thing they tend to do!

As for the 'little people', I really gave that some thought... I think Kimber Lee is realizing that, on some levels, she's transcended being a normal human, and is more like a Branch of the Military, or maybe even a Head of State in her own right... and sometimes, distressingly, people in such positions have to deal with the Stalin's, the Mao's, the Saudi Royal Family... Realpolitik!! It's a nasty thing, but, maybe Kimber Lee just realizes she's needs inside help to navigate her coming reality, to keep things from blowing up, and maybe costing more lives...

If Jack is acting, she'll know (they can't lie to each other... or... maybe Kimber Lee has figured out how to lie to him (remember the shared dream?)) If he agrees, she'll likely feel he's genuine (unless he's figure out how to mask himself...)!!

After defeating Eli, I think Kimber Lee matured a lot so I don't think she´s bluffing at all. I have to say that for me, it'll take an entire chapter to fit all those dialogues XD
