We meet main character #2, Jadwiga Vilkas. My computer is being SO SLOW.
Anyway. I'm pretty happy with how this page came out, though if you have some suggestions (that don't involve re-drawing) I'd be interested. As usual, critque is welcome!!
Guhh I am so broke D: I'm hungry, but none of the food I have is delicious, and I shouldn't buy more foodz… ;_;
although don't pity me too much; I just had a grilled cheese and some broccoli at like 3.
Spring break is next week! woot. I have another short story due right after break– I have this fantab idea. I'm always trying to do something new with each story, and my “new” thing this time is… light-hearted. Usually my stories are very dramatic; I think it leaves me vulnerable as a writer, so I'd like to keep some ironic distance from my readers. My new story is going to be about an Anthropology student who can't get a job so she's working at Lord and Taylor, and she's trying to get a promotion so she bribes a lady to fill out a “recommendation” card.
And she lies to her mother,telling her that she's got some cushy ethnography job at some corporation. Her name? Rosa Menti. Lol– in spanish mentirosa means liar! get it, get it??
Anyway I'm reading a book called “Introducing Anthropology” and I'm almost done. When I am I'll return it and get a new anthro book!

Thanks for the comments, guys! :) Angry_Black_Guy: I'll try that out- I don't know why, but when I draw comics I never put in gutters (I'm very greedy with my space, I guess!)

Still a bit rough around the edges but a dramatic improvement over the first page in terms of design and pacing. My final suggestion is to make use of gutters (the little white spaces between panel borders). Gutters act as a sort of "breath" between panels. As it is, your panels are separated by a thin, dark line that nearly blends into the background. It makes your page look squashed together. Even a centimeter wide gutter will make your page look much better.

I really like the color/texture on this page. Have fun on spring break! I'm perpetually on break -- and broke, because I got my masters degree two years ago and can't land a job.
