03 - First Attempt

Originally I had drawn my own ? box, but I started to wonder at what point this series would stop being a “sprite comic” and just be some sort of oekaki comic with sprites pasted over it. Personally, I believe that sprite backgrounds simply don't work in comic format. It's all well and good in a video game, but too often the intensities of the characters and the backgrounds are too similar, and the characters get lost in them. There's a way to do it, to be certain, but for me, the method I'm developing just feels better (plus it gives me a chance to practice creating simple backgrounds).
My advice at this point to any spriters out there is to not to get too attached to any one technique. It's good to find something your comfortable with, but if you find a better method later on, don't be afraid to change to it.

Finally! Drunk Duck is blessed with a good sprite comic. This is so on my favorites list! Good job ink!

Um... the point of my rant is that I don't like the sprite backgrounds, so I try to recreate the environment on my own. So, uh... yeah, I guess I'm taking your advice to heart, apparently.

Take backgrounds from the games of you need to. Or try to recreate the backgrounds.

That's why I like to put sprites in backgrounds they won't get lost in. Like in EtD2 I put Eternity (Who is colourful) against the dreary streets of gotham (From Batman Returns). She sticks out and every one can see her blurry goodness (No one will get that until tomorrow)

OMG, what is this..a Sprite comic that doesn't make my eyes bleed, I loled at, and I don't hate? It's like an early weekend, I better get drinking. Great work.
