He's getting closer!
I like Nareth's dad. He's not going to be rude, or even lie to the ridiculously-suspicious-and-very-scary armored guy, but he's not about to tell him where his son went. Good for him.
Sorry the shading sucks so bad, allergies were kicking my ass all weekend. -_-
For a random aside though, here's a little write-up on What TM is Not (Part 1).

Dreamfog - "For what is wrong with chibis, well, the irony of it is....I don't like them.... -.-" Aww! That is kinda ironic, but sad too. No fun to not be drawing what you love. Still, your advice is quite useful, and I will be using it (provided it doesn't leak out of my sieve-like mind). Most words of wisdom I can think of to offer in return right now seem like nothing more than generic morale-boosters in my head, so I won't offer them. But as long as you keep drawing and improving, you can likely get where you want to be. (So I sorta offered them anyway...yay!)

The scribbles are rather dark compared to everything else, that was the main reason my eyes caught them. A little variation in tone and you'll get the desired effect you want. As for my opinion, I'm just giving you a bit of a background check on myself. Always good to know who you're getting advice from so you can gauge its worth. I won't take consider someone's advice too much if all they can draw are stick figures...with some exceptions of course. For what is wrong with chibis, well, the irony of it is....I don't like them.... -.-"

Dreamfog - *nods sagely* my real goal is to keep them from being too obvious, since I don't really want people looking at the background more than the characters. So the fact that they stood out to you is bad and needs fixing. I think you're right on the use of tones...should probably scale back the use of scribbles too. They look a little too different. And never think that your abilities - good or bad - should color your opinions of other things. If it looks bad, good, okay, whatever, that's what you see. You don't need to have an art degree to voice it. Also - what's wrong with chibi's? I can't draw them! XD amused4ever - it DOES help, actually. It helps a LOT. I guess I can't help but view the world through the lens of my own work, so everything inevitably gets compared. It's VERY good to know that third-party readers don't see TM as a cheap knock-off. I swear, I only found it a couple of weeks ago! ^_^;

AAAH! HE APPEARS AGAIN! I think I'm starting to get attached to his mysterious-ness. :D Haha, I read your "What TM is NOT" thing...I agree with your points, and I never thought TM was a furry comic. And don't know if this helps coming from someone in your audience, but Inverloch was my first webcomic and when I came across TM I didn't notice the similarities until I read your post...so I never thought in the least you were ripping Ms. Sarah off! ;P

To be honest I think all you have to do is and maybe a bit more tonal value and you can pull it off as blurred background paintings that can be interupreted into anything you want really. Of course then again you don't need to take my advice, since the only thing I seem able to draw at the moment are chibis.... >.>

Tantz Aerine - A very good point. My first thought was..."well...I didn't put wrinkles in earlier stuff, and it'd be weird to have them suddenly pop up" and that was how I intended to reply, but then I thought, "No, that's a good point, and makes perfect sense. I think I will follow that advice!" I hope I don't forget. ^_^; Maybe I should do a new character sheet (I really should do them for all the characters, in fact - no joke, they've changed a bit and its hard keeping them uniform.) Dreamfog - Also a good point. I was attempting to set them off as being different from the rest of the world (slightly more organic) but yeah, it doesn't work. I'll try something else next time, probably a bit more representational. Thanks!

Shading isn't that bad. The only thing that throws me off are the scribble paintings. They remind me too much of "modern art"... -.-
