Conversational Notes:
Mike and I actually have conversations like this. He's never actually hit me with an arrow (I tend to dodge a lot), but I wouldn't put it past him.
Further, I've decided to make a few different notations per comic: conversational, comic, and rant. I have a lot to say, best to keep it organized. This way y'all can simply ignore the portions of dissertation that don't interest you.
Comic Notes:
I've received a few PQ's about how I make the comic. This is done 100% with my trusty Wacom tablet and a blank page in Photoshop. I do each frame at about 400% zoom level and maybe three times bigger than the final product. The only tools I use are the brush (hard edge) and eraser.
I'm glad you noticed that my strips are of different sizes. I have NO intention of doing this professionally (maybe another strip someday), so they'll never be put into print and I therefore don't care about staying within the lines.
Rant Notes:
Drawing a slab of meat in negative space is a major pain. Drawing one with maggots is (in addition to gross- you should see my research shots) far worse, as maggots are functionally white lines.
Any feedback? PLEASE comment, even if you hate itt! It's the only way I'll get better, and find out what's working or not.

Now, those are some fine maggots. You did well. I like how you can see the tip of the arrow in the first frame, but don't notice it until you've read the whole thing, or at least I didn't. good work .

Actually... I just loaded Photoshop Elements 5, seems doable.. Have the newest Photoshop, Too much work for this old dog!

To be honest NYJ, the way that I got good with it was to start with Photoshop and an airbrush. Leave the edges of the brush as soft as possible (100) and set the opacity to something like 5-10%. Pick an arbitrary set of objects (I learned because I was doing video game models: planets and aliens) and just re-do 'em until you're happy with them. If you want, I'll post up some of the earliest stuff I did with it. I'll leave you a PQ to this effect.

Looks painfull !!! how can he stand there and speak so calm like ?!?!? I'm still playing with my tablet.. have not found the rite program for me! But, still looking!

It has to do with the way objects appear to deflect when within a rotating frame of reference and certain meteorological effects. Also, most people (incorrectly) believe it to have an impact on the way water drains down an opening.

and i highly doubt it's the coriolis effect. doesnt that have somethign to do with somethign rotating or something. =\
