And thus ends the almost 25-page storyline of the Big City Trip. Which is probably my longest storyline ever. What did you guys think? Was it too long or too short? Did I leave something out that I should have touched on?
I'm sure the teleporter will be utilized in the future for many many adventures. But for now I'm looking forward to a break from a storyline.. so be ready for some good old fashioned joke-a-day 1-parters back in suburbia. I miss Nettika and the Weird Kid, don't you all?
nibbi: you got it, man! Glad to hear she has fans ;0)
Rockster: thanks!
Ersatz: well, 21 pages. Good to know it didn't seem too long for you, means I didn't stretch it out.
Bloody hell! Almost 25 strips? Seriously? That's mental, it didn't seem that long! Really enjoyed it but looking forward to some old faces coming back!
jgib99: thanks & congrats on the "first post"
PR: I don't get it either, but whatever makes ya happy!
brock: as always, thanks for your honest opinion. This Joke wasn't one of my best, I agree... it was a simple ending to the storyline. The "city" doghouse they warped to I wanted to convey as being hap-hazardly thrown together... maybe it was too much. Congrats to you on your 3rd post, here's to acheiving goals, LOL!
crocty: Brock isn't mean! I appreciate the honesty. If the homeless dude doesn't get a real name, that'll be 4 characters with no "real" name... and they're all humans. But I do like the humor in the name.. "Hobo Dude", lol.
harryq: okay! After I get a break. ;0D
Midge: another good point about the ending... now I'm all confused. Ah well.
PP: heh, more than he'll ever know!
Villamar: thanks for stoppin by!
SpANG: congrats to your Sox. Must be a great feeling! Not that I'm bitter. Well, yes, I am. ;0)
JZintel: oooooh-ho I have plans for mishaps. Just not right away. And I agree some shorter teleporter stories would be nice.. but I did want a nice long arc for the first trip. Thanks for the crit!
antcomics: ha, me neither!
heymelby: Okay, now I have to figure this out for sure---Lessee.. I started at #90.. and this #111.. so it's only 21 pages, my bad! Still probably my longest run, tho! thanks for your vote, man!
dantheman: well, thanks! A good way to look at it ;0)
maninblack: yay! more trips will come, don't you worry!
reconjsh: word!
WOW was it 25 pages?!?!?!? tell you the truth, comic strips should not have chapters or set guide-lines of how long stories should be!
If the art is good (check), and there is a laugh or two each strip (check), there should be no problem on where YOU take us (check)
(^O^)
I don't think 25 was too long. Basically, I say that a story should be as long or as short as you want it. As long as you're interested in telling it we'll be interested in reading it
I'm a little disappointed that there was no teleporter mishap. I guess there's always next time.
As for your question, I do think it went a tad too long. I think it could have been cut down by five or so pages. Maybe next time have them explore the city one time, then a few done in one quick gag strips and the next time have them go to a specific location.
It was hilarious! well done on the story arc! and the ending is fitting...to Brock's point I think that it is the feeling you have after a day of work...anti-climatic. not some big pow, over the top, here's the cash and prizes punchline. so how you ended it is great.
3rd Post! That's one weekly goal I got in EARLY! Booyah!
Enjoyed the storyline, Dawn.
Not as sure about this ending. Punchline left me a bit cold and I thought panel 2 was visually confusing. I know I'm looking at the teleporter, but I don't get any real sense of its shape or the space it occupies. I feel like I want to the camera to zoom out just a bit.

d'oh! I forgot n_y_japlander: thanks! And you have to have great fans! (CHECK!) It was only 21 pages.. I'm an artist, I can't do math, LOL.
