Slimredninja brought up a reference I figured SOMEONE would jump on: Brokeback. Especially with Fred.. being.. well.. Fred. And a little tribute the late great actor Heath Ledger. Plus, Nettika's first line sounded exactly like something I'd write for her, the little prissy bi-atch that she is.

Dantheman's entry was a classic quick-and-easy zinger, something you don't see enough of these days. Simple and effective. Plus, he was an early favorite as many mentioned. What a guy, that Dan. For more quippy classic comic-strippy goodness, swing by Dan the Man's,.. erm… Dan the Man (what is WITH the combo-user-name -and-comic-name's?)

Because I was a wuss and didn't choose a winner myself, BOTH of these contestants will get a cameo in the next Z&F. Even if it means I go completely insane trying to think it up! But the final winner, as voted by you duckers will bask in PWITM #8 glory for all time. No, that wasn't overly dramatic at all.

Ok I feel I have to chime in here as a college prof let me say its fine to use multiple adjectives in front of the subject of the adjectives good form would usually dictate not using more then three. Without question the slim red one is funnier it seems to match the action of the picture better as well.

One of the quirks in slimred's is that side kick and the adjectives just kinda blend and theres really no separation.. maybe try switching dumb and fat.. ..

johnkeating: ha ha, yes.. we must obey the rules of comedy. Especially the monkeys/clothes one. Brock: now I'm curious... you should PQ me the one you liked best. Maybe I missed something? LOL. I do understand what you mean about the grammatical quirk in slimred's entry (and no offense to him!)... I can't put a finger on it either! Ah well, seems like more people than just me got the joke, though.

Well...this is tough because you didn't choose the funniest one (and no, I'm not talking about mine...although that one was STELLAR). So...after very little deliberating...I'm going with dantheman. The gay cowboy one--I get what it's SUPPOSED to be about, but I can't make heads or tails of how the joke connects with the dialogue. There's some kind of grammatical or syntactical or combaticoocoopolitical error going on there and I can't suss the actual meaning out.

thanks for your votes, guys! Looks like slimred is in the lead! I mean, what's funnier than gay cowboy alien dogs? Poor Heath. I'm not sure if I'll be able to bring myself to watch the next batman... but yeah, I'll probably see it anyway. As a tribute!
