Right now I am mad at Kev so I am not speaking to him about this comic anymore.

But if YOU want to speak about this excellent and original comic some more, post your thoughts here!

I love this comic as well, and although the ending was not very satisfying, I feel like if the comic just continued indefinitely it could have gotten worse, possibly becoming redundant. The actual ending was was ok, but nothing compared to the rest of the comic.

Bocaj I am not against a comic coming to a logical ending. I always assumed this comic was building to a clear ending point.
But that is a far cry from what we got, which was just a sudden jarring halt.
For me it detracted from an otherwise great work.

I agree with Harkovast, the Optimist was an absolutely brilliant comic, but the ending just seemed too sudden.

Right now, having only read the ending page, I would agree but that could just be that I didn't know what was going on.

I kinda liked the ending. It WAS rather abrupt, but I definitely couldn't think of anything else she could have done, unless she wanted to go into a full story about their lives after their father's death and etc. which I don't think was the point…I think it was just meant to be a glimpse into someone's life…and other than death, those don't really have proper endings.

And of course the rest of the comic was amazing. Not enough watercolour comics around, I think.

I wanted to see the characters lives though. I wanted to know how the boys crazy issues in his head resolved and what happened after the fathers death.
The comic felt like an introduction to a story that I am now never going to get to read.
