I noticed this meme is going around on social media right now, particularly among my artist friends who are showcasing their top 9 pieces of artwork they've done for the year 2023. Since much of 2023 for me artistically was Season 2 of VAMPIRE GIRL running here on DD, I decided to showcase one panel from what my stats show were the top 9 most-viewed strips/pages.

Hmm. Okay, will just pick from my more respectable webcomic (Ripping Off King Arthur) for this. Let's see… well there are probably twenty or so out of the 130 ROKA pictures I did this year that I could put as my best nine. I think I'll cheat and do 8 pictures and have the 9th be my best webcomic page.

Since this originated on social media, I think the idea was your 9 most-liked artwork you posted over the past year, but like I said, artistically speaking, 2023 was mostly about VG's second season, so I just went into the comic's stats, figured out which were the 9 most-viewed pages/strips, and took a single panel from those.

Ohhhhhh… I didn't do that.
I don't use parasocial media.

I just made this to have fun, I dont feel bad. Ok art.

Oh! Thank you for bumping this! I meant to post in this thread when it first went up but was visiting family and by the time I got home, I forgot. Haha.

…didn't do much aside from comics in 2023, and since I'm not doing the grid (which I get was the point…sorry! Some of them don't crop well.) I'll just do two from each comic.













(I dunno about the quality in that last one, but it's one of my favorite panels ever so it gets included. XD

I took some time away from the forums and whatnot (WAY too much time!) and I come back and you're like a completely different artist! Your characters are so expressive and I love your use of shadows!

I've been really focused on learning to properly depict motion in 2023. It's something I've been shockingly bad at considering I keep making action/adventure comics, haha! But I think it's starting to pay off.

Next is improving my backgrounds.
