This is what I have in mind:

Creators can come up with a brand new character, or volunteer a cast member of their comic. We pick a sport and divide the characters into roughly even teams. The teams take turns, but anybody can contribute art to either side.

For example, it is Team A's turn to be on offense. An artist wants to draw this page but their character is on Team B. They could have them blocking Team A's offense. Now it's Team B's turn, the same artist can contribute another page where the character goes on offense. Of course, it's totally fine just to riff off each other too.
