Anniversary Milestone
Here is a message from GrapeApe, creator of Nocturne 21:
Hi!
November 22nd marked the 20th anniversary of my comic Nocturne 21! Twenty years ago my angsty teenage self picked up a crappy composition notebook and started journaling my teen rage in the form of a comic and I’ve been angsting in it ever since. Nocturne’s been through many changes and five iterations, starting out as a painfully, crappy melding of all my favorite manga/anime and ending up being a story focused on trauma, personal growth and family dynamics. It’s been an amazing journey, really pushing me creatively and has been a fantastic outlet for self expression. I’m very grateful to have this comic in my life and to all the people who have taken the time to read it! It’s been amazing being able to share it with everyone else, particularly The Duck which was my first official comic platform when posting version 4 over a decade ago! After what was a long hiatus, I’m so happy to be back on here posting again on this big anniversary! Thank you so much for reading!

Thanks everyone! The support means everything! I’m so happy to get to celebrate this milestone! I have a hard time keeping up with projects so it’s nice to have something that I actually stuck with, lol. J!!!!!! Your comments (and your own gorgeous comics) always make me so happy, my friend!!! Thanks for reading about my sad, silly coffee addict!!! Headdy! I credited you in my anniversary video because your promotional support to me and to many other artists is kickass! You are wonderful!! Hopefully in the next 20 years I’ll be still going strong with this iteration and not on version 10 or something, lol. (That’s a joke. This is the FINAL version. Pacts have been made.) Wow major congratulations for this momentous milestone! I enjoy the character comparisons and seeing how far they came along, gods I love seeing artists evolve and find their signature style!! Keep up the great work! 20 years is dedication, I see a lot of artists give up after 3-4 before they really hit their stride. Your hard work really shows!
