Ep. 6 Page 19

Several highly detailed pages in a row… I feel drained.
I had a bit of a hard time designing this “inner sanctuary”, as Deckard calls it. At best it should combine “monumental”, “recreative” and “claustrophobic” at the same time :-) The monument at the centre is a combination of the DNA double helix and the Yin-Yang-symbol. To A.D they're representing their scientific interests… the DNA being a naturalistic/materialistic symbol, the yin-yang something rather spiritual. Actually in one version of my script the Yin-Yang-symbol was the first panel of the whole comic - because it symbolizes distinction, and distinction can be taken to be the “currency” of consciousness. And in case I haven't pointed it out enough times already - that's what the comic should be about :-)
Also, I'm experimenting with a new banner here… this one came out a bit too large, but as always, dd's server needs some time before it fixes things.

DAJB: And I'm always thankful for your pointing that out :-)
Fitz: Thanks very much, and yeah, I agree on the yin-yang-DNA-thing. Maybe when you'd like to do a retelling of this story you'd like to redesign it? :-)
pato: Thanks a lot! I admit was struggling with it a bit ^^;
literacysuks1, trevoramueller: Thanks!

You did a great job at conveying monumental + recreational + claustrophobic. Exactly what I thought when I saw it. And that double helix on top of yin-yang- a nice touch. Although I'd weave both together somehow or make the sinusoid of the helix become part of the yin-yang's sinusoid.

I'm always impressed by your ability to convey huge scale in relatively small panels ... terrific!
