Issue 30 page 24

That's all there is, there isn't anymore.
It's been fun doing this comic all these years. And stressful. And rage
inducing. I miss it already, but for now I'm taking my bow and settling
for the series ending I've planned since issue 15. I'd appreciate any
comments you guys have to give.
Stay with my Deviantart for news on what's next.

You've come a long way Literacy... It's a great ride... I do have a lot to catch up on, because I've been away from "the duck" for a while. But I'm back for action!!!

Muahahah... myeeees, everything is working according to my plans. Now that your precious superhero comic is finished, it is *I* who shall rule this site with MY upcoming superhero comic *manical laughter!!!*

This comic may be finished, but it got nominated for plenty of awards. Here are the banners (I don't think that the pictures will show)

Silvipera: Good luck with your shot at it. I guess I have had to put aside the notion that "going pro" in terms of getting into print with a company is very important. Anything below Marvel or DC doesn't seem to be enough of an exposure boost for it to matter...I think the webcomic thing can be just as lucrative, provided you play your cards right. I still wouldn't scoff at a graphic novel deal with image or oni, though. --- Benjin: That means a lot, Benjin. I tried to set the bar high for myself as I drew this, and I'd hope it made the book something special. Mostly I'm just excited to apply what I learned to my next project. --- Vegetarian: Awesome. I am working on the next book as we speak -- I'm hoping to get a good portion done in time for a January launch which I can advertise here. --- ArmandoB: Thanks a lot.

It was an awesome comic. Congrats, dude.

Sorry to see it end but thanks and I really enjoyed your work in this. Good luck with you next work. Will follow on the link you provided. Thanks once again
benjin at 4:12AM, Sept. 18, 2011
No more Acrobat? I can tell you that I miss your comic already. In my opinion it is definitely one of the best, if not THE best comic here on DD.
silverdragon1 at 11:38AM, Sept. 17, 2011
i loved your comic but the ending struck me as the end of a story arc instead of the end of the series.
silvipera at 3:07PM, Sept. 15, 2011
Man, you are AWESOME! I'm sure this work is undeniable proof that you are a professional artist in your own right. I totally agree with your comment on going pro, it honestly is not an easy path. "Brick wall and sinking ship" is an accurate description. You have inspired me to look inside myself and to ask myself whether it is better to continue to print my work, or become a webcomic artist. And thanks to you and Acrobat, I think I'll be leaning toward the latter.
literacysuks1 at 12:51PM, Sept. 14, 2011
Hero: Me too. Had to happen sometime, though. Fuku: Thank you. And thank you for your support since..most of the book, if I'm remembering right. I always appreciated the longterm readers who really stuck around and watched the thing grow. As for pro...I'm trying and have tried, honestly. It's a brick wall and a sinking ship. I'm just going to try to become an A level web artist with a personal site and build off of that, I think. Wish me luck. Aqua: Thanks. Yeah, I'm glad to hit an ending. I don't read a TON of webcomics, but actually ending without a couple reboots and a hiatus seems rare.
literacysuks1 at 12:48PM, Sept. 14, 2011
God of War: Maybe in a preview capacity. Honestly, I'd rather host my own site and do something that can make me money. It's not an elitism thing, it's just hard to justify producing work like for free. Crazy: I wish! But it's kind of complicated, since all my files are low rez. I'd have to remaster 700 or so pages of old comics, which isn't in my best interest. I'm going to try to collect my new work in print, though. Brondan: Nah, they're just in a Flash/Kid Flash kind of situation. As for Midnight, he'd probably have to fight Wade for that.
literacysuks1 at 12:44PM, Sept. 14, 2011
Mac: Not anything as long, at least. I'm glad to have a project that documents my progress from young artist to -- slightly older artist. Abt:777? I hadn't been keeping track for awhile, so that's pretty cool. Will give people a mountain to read whenever they feel like catching up. Azu: I assume you're volunteering! SOLID GOLD AND DIAMONDS, PLEASE. Slashdot: Thanks. I have the script for a new thing done, and I plan to post it on my own site. DD was good to me, but it's too buggy for me lately. CallMeTom: Yeah, that was my thinking. Better to end on my own terms than peter out when time runs out. Nepath: Thanks. I'm a sucker for a happy ending, I suppose. And after spending 30 issues with these characters, I couldn't imagine doing anything too harsh to them. Oz: Yeah. He's Lopez's old mentor...he main appearances were in issues 7-8.

Awesome comic. I am sad to see it end, but happy that it made it to its end unlike many others, plus it was an actual ending, not just some post "and then falling rocks killed everyone!"
fukujinzuke at 9:33AM, Sept. 13, 2011
Great work, lit! The depth of the story and each character, your action sequences, dialog, paneling, and backgrounds just blow me away! You need to go pro, man. Seriously. Your art alone easily outshines quite a number of artists working for Marvel and DC comics, and you definitely have the production speed, so no more excuses!
Hero at 7:35AM, Sept. 13, 2011
It's an amazing ending. Sad to see it end though.
Brondan at 7:03AM, Sept. 13, 2011
This is great. and leaves a lot of questions. Is Kid Lazer (Lopez/claudio) a clone too? Seems too convienient to have a sidekick with exactly your powers. I did have this thought that Midnight might take BlackHawk's cowl. Enjoyed it IMMENSELY.
crazy_goodfellow at 6:54AM, Sept. 13, 2011
Oh, man, I'm going to miss this comic. It has been one of my favorites for some time, and I've liked it a lot. If there's anything like a hardcover collection, I'll buy it. Thanks for giving us this much fun.
God of War at 6:21AM, Sept. 13, 2011
Amazing comics, I will miss it. Can we hope to see any of your future projects on Drunk Duck?
Ozmandious at 4:32AM, Sept. 13, 2011
so who was red? was he the laser guy?
Nepath at 1:40AM, Sept. 13, 2011
Great run and one of the few comics that I stick with to read. Probably a bit more of a happier ending than i was expecting/hoping for but still great. The best bit of the ending though was the decision to flashback to Wade in a test tube, excellent final shot for the comic. I look forward to seeing what you offer up next. Godd luck.
Call Me Tom at 12:29AM, Sept. 13, 2011
Its sad to see it go, but best to end on a high!
slashdotdash at 11:11PM, Sept. 12, 2011
Amazing story, amazing art, amazing plot twist - just overall amazing :D Can't wait to see any other work you put out there, congratulations on completing this one!
AzuJOD at 7:43PM, Sept. 12, 2011
Congrats on a job well done, sir. You deserve an award for all your hard work.
Abt_Nihil at 5:28PM, Sept. 12, 2011
Oh my God, you're done! dd tells me this is 777 pages long. Huge respect.
