Trouble in Paradise

Thus continues ApL,, a webcomic by Shaun and Dave.
It flows and floods your consciousness like a dammed river does not.
Or, alternatively:
CHARON: Welcome to the River of the Damned, the Styx. I'm Charon, and today I'll be your pilot and guide across these wretched waters. Keep your limbs and extremities within the bounds of my boat, lest they be torn and rent by the furious souls of the condemned, and lest they pull you into their liquid hell.
DAVE: Pfft, no. We're ApL. We cross the tributaries of the underworld OURSELVES.
It's like a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure book. That's how great we are.
Dave and I actually e-mailed Matt Boyd to see if he wanted to finish this strip for us (after Shaun walks out), but he declined (as in, didn't even respond to our question, though he did respond to the e-mail, to his credit), so Dave added a nice little twist to everything with a touch of his own writing.
Also, MacHall #99 can be found here, in order to clarify our nifty allusion. Except, don't actually go there, because then you'll be reading MacHall and not Applied Living. And that's just not good for anyone.
Dave is going to continue to touch ApL and all of our hearts with his writing for the next week, meaning this comic will be funny and entertaining once more.
Enjoy.
–Shaun

Art-wise, I really like the 5th panel for some reason... the 4th goes nicely with it, too. Writing-wise I think I like the whole panel. You know, that really big panel that fills up the screen? Yeah. That one. Not that I am playing favorites with the art and the writing, I just thought those two panels stuck out the most to me, and the writing is always superb!

Dave, you are a public relations CHAMPION.

@ Zac and Hijuda: Well I've been thinking about it. I'd like to get quite a few more comics under my belt before I shell out for a domain/host. Shaun and I have already talked about buying a studio domain (for my art and his writing) but I'm gonna hold off for now. Though it is a cool idea. @ Riot: Thanks man. Tacos rock.
Hijuda at 4:27PM, July 10, 2007
On the lines of domains- Srsly. Dude. Srsly.

When I read APL now, I feel like I'm reading comic tacos. ...and we all know how much I love tacos. By the way, really dig the new site design!
Zac at 1:08PM, July 10, 2007
Geez guys, when I read ApL now I feel like I'm reading comic gold. Along with brilliant Author's notes... It's like a fulfledged webcomic. get a domain now

BFG: Well I'd talked to him before (months ago about other projects he might be working on), but Shaun actually was asking for advice and for the script thing. Hijuda: I'm relatively certain he doesnt want to be any of them. He's Shaun Meyers, he doesn't need to emulate anyone else. vossi: Actually, i highly doubt that the zerglings would have the individual capacity to rule a world without the direction of their beloved Overmind. =P
acadia at 10:27AM, July 10, 2007
Normalman: Wow, really? That's awesome! Jimmy: Thanks man. It'd be better, but the friggin rounded tables wouldnt work for the comments/authors notes. Oh well. Vindibudd: I doubt they even pay attention to what you bring in. They go 'hey, did you like that guy?' 'yeah man, he was cool' 'alright, hire him'. Penguin: Thanks? Talekyn: Thanks man. blnt: All story credit goes to Shaun =P (but the art credit goes to me...)

Well, if you don't want to be Boyd, who do you want to be? Tycho? Ananth? There aren't many webcomic writers in the world, so your choices are kinda limited.
BigFishComic at 6:58PM, July 9, 2007
mnn this is a good one. Extra points for actually emailing matt to finish the strip.
blntmaker at 5:54PM, July 9, 2007
You are a master storyteller (Somebody is anyway)! Love the art and color!

Trouble in paradise, guys? *grin* Shaun, tell us you're not really walking out on ApL!!!! Great strip, though. Both halves!

good luck now!

You know, that really is how it goes when applying for a job. You bring in the resume and they STILL insist you fill out a work history.
theJimmy at 2:33PM, July 9, 2007
damn. clearly I haven't been on your page for a while, because this new setup is freakin' awesome! -J.
