Originally it was seeds, but I drew them too big by accident. I've heard it as seeds, beans, small pebbles and sewing needles as well.

I thought it works with poppy seeds... oh well... beans are much easier to count. If I were a vampire I would much prefer counting beans to counting poppy seeds.
