Well, it's not as though he shouldn't have known better. This was done of course with markers, and the backgrounds took for-ever, especially the last panel, but it was surprisingly faster than when I do the coloring on the computer.
Thanks for all that visited Night School,, which has by the way updated today since I finished both pages. Once again, that comic doing well (hopefully because it's good, of course)will determine if CTV ever gets published, so help us out and give it a little attention? It would help boost CTV's update schedule too, because I'd be honestly more enthusiastic about the both of them. Not trying to make ya feel guilty or anything but I do see some complaining about me taking forever to update CTV, while Night School is updating more frequently in between CTV updates. It's not as though I'm sitting around having fun with video games when I should be updating…no, ‘cuz I’m working on comics! NS is the one getting published, and I have deadlines to meet, so sadly updating CTV quickly isn't the top priority. I'm working on 3 comics and the fourth, UIU, is sadly on hiatus for now. If I didn't love CTV so much it'd be on hiatus too while I try to get things done. Just bear with me while I try to work this out. I'm not burning out on comics, it's just that I'm under a lot of pressure right now, and taking a break isn't the right answer for me.
Also, before I go I want to say something important that has been…well, on my mind a bit. I just want you to know that your comments DO matter and I read every single one, and yes, I do notice when people haven't been around in a long time, and I guess I'm feeling a little melancholy at the absence of some old faces around here. Not to say that I don't love new commenters, ‘cuz you guys rock too! I just want you all to know that no matter how many people are here, it doesn’t diminish the impact or importance that your individual voice contributes to this comic. I would not have improved so much if not for helpful guidance. And I am proud that you guys have never made constructive comments feel unwelcome, and I hope that it continues this way. (Elsewhere I've seen too many people offering good advice only to have the author, and its fans, come down on them like rabid…boulders? For having an opinion that wasn't “kiss the artist's butt for he/she is perfect!”) I'm sure some people are thinking “you're nuts, you've got enough comments already!” but it's not a quantity issue…I'd just like to know who's there, and who's STILL there after all these years.
I guess what I'm trying to say to those I haven't seen in a while…. I MISS YOUSE! (and don't think I don't know when you're gone!) What I really need is to get in contact with everyone again. Sadly, dial-up does NOT help. Really, I notice this slump is due to me rarely having time to even read comics that I love, let alone new ones with large archives. Hopefully I'll be getting a faster internet soon. Hopefully…expect to see me around DD a lot more then. It seriously takes like 3 minutes to even look at a single page these days.
I'm really afraid of people growing bored of me, though…
I've just joined the site in order to leave this comment. I'm an artist with an arm injury- which means I spend my days alternating between happily working on my art, and stalking around the house fuming and/or going nuts because my arm has mutinied. Beware RSI, it ruins everything!!!
On a particularly bad day I sat down to browse through drunk-duck, and picked CTV because Hex's pink eyes looked interesting. I read the whole archive that day. And this morning there was an update! Mana from heaven! I'm saving your other work for next time I'm going nuts.
So thankyou for this.
I really do enjoy Night School--and I really hope it does well, because I REALLY want CTV in book format! :( I hope you get your old readers back--I can't imagine why they skivved off in the first place...
I wish I knew how to use markers like that! It looks amazing! THAT'S what shows how good an artist you are! (The ability to actually color in pictures not using the computer.)
Rabid boulders?! That'd be the pits! Also the pits? Dial up! I hope you can get faster service soon!
As for the comic, amazing! It still looks ridiculously good.
Growing bored of you? What in the name of grilled cheese are you typing about?! No one with any sense would get bored of someone who has wonderful art, excellent storylines, and even has the gall to read mountains of comments and not just the praise, because she's dedicated to her fans.
You're well loved in the DD community, and elsewhere I certain.
Oh, final note.. WE MISS YOUSE TOO! Seriously, 1 month without Charby = death. Never again! ^^
Yay! Traditionaly colored! I do adore the hand traditional pages so. I prefer it to the computer coloring, actually. Ah well =/
I may go through times of constenty commenting to commenting once in a blue moon, but no worries, I'm always here reading ;)
ah i aint going anywhere i just dont wanna comment on every page because i worry about being anoying anyway love this page and ah dont worry i ll be still be here and i faved night school i think it is cool haha i think the characters are gonna be interesting they sure are funny and how they look genius !!! you and nick rock !
Sweet. Hahahaha!
And poor Menu ofc. :)
I like the way you drew this picture. It seems to lack some layer of sorts (yeah, don't know what's missing), but I like it.
Loving the facial expression on menu and the others in last panel gave me a good giggle to start day with thanks :). I don't think it's possible to get bored of this particular comic I for one love it and am happy as a fat kid in a cake shop come sweet shop where the owner is locked in a cupboard whenever I see a new update. *group hug*
Growing bored of you? Don't think such thoughts! We arn't bored of you, infact we're the opposite..Wait..What is the opposite of bored? *boggles*
Eh, nevermind.
Anyway, some people may not post because they have nothing to say and feel bad about leaving a blank comment.
Don't beat yourself up, y'know. You have one of those things..What're they called? Oh right, Lives. You have a life. Some of us don't. Probably alot of us. But not the point! The point is, clearly...I have no idea where I'm going with this...
So..Uh..Right...Yeah, keep up the good work. We're here for you, you know that.
sorry about that... its just on these big comics first post is a cool thing...anyhow...
the page looks great, and NS is one of my fav's...
have you tried going to a public library and using their computers since they're faster? i mean you could scan and edit at home, put it on a disc and go to the library and upload it... i think that would... actually it wouldnt be all that better unless you had...probably ten pages at once...anyhow i'm just rambling...
and... how could a boulder go rabid???
