Hey all, in short thanks very very much for your support and your help (and especially your sense of humor!) I wish I had more to say at the moment but right now I'm dead on my feet (or seat as it is) and sorry for the long delay. I'll take those suggestions into consideration as well. Hope youse guys like the page. I'll try to respond to more stuff when I'm awake! (I've got excuses for why I wasn't very active this week, but I'd rather not make excuses. But they are good ones.)
I'm just waiting for Victor to completely disregard Lady Emma and try to go back to beating up Quixoto before getting at least ten vampires up in his face. It seems to be just the stupid, hot-headed type of thing I've come to expect from him. Not that Vic's stupid, but he has a tendency to act rashly, I've found.
...*feels sorry for Quixoto*
BOOYAH! Betcha Q's going to think twice before he kills the love interest of /two/ awesome characters!
And by the way, I'm obsessed with your comic. Please, take your time to make the next page look as cool as this one!
Totally awesome.
It'd be nice if Victor was just human. I like the idea that you don't have to be born powerful (or bitten) to be awesome. But maybe it's just his eye that's special...
Spike comes to mind.
I dont know if it was intentional or not but in the 'kick panel' doesn't it look like there is an aura above Vic... like with eyes.
It looks like something is being released from within him. (besides a barrel of Whoop Ass)
Awesome page in general.
Hope you're getting enough sleep and keeping the stress level low
Curse the semblance of being busy, it gets in the way of checking comics... but of course I don't have near as much to do as others, so I really can't complain
What was that? *punch* Huh? I couldn't hear you over the- *crack* -horrific- *snap* -beating I'm giving this *cllickt-crunch* -imbicile. Now what was that you were saying? ...Mhmm.. alive you say? ....
....
...whoops.
Awesome page... and sorry if the sounds are a bit too gruesome... hehe. I don't like Charby's daddy much.
Okay then.nice page by the way,
And if i end up somehow worshiping the ground that you stand on, at least you know it will be honest.^^
Dark red and turquoise work rather well together.
teh WERR: I can say with confidence CTV was the first among those, chronologically, but I didn't beat out the "The Vampirate" (which has nothing to do with pirates, but has space vampires) which was printed in a SciFi magazine in the 50's. The webcomic and the novels were published in 2005, CTV started posting online on Jan. 6, 2004, and officially began in 2002 offline. However you're correct, I don't think any of us were aware of the other when we started our projects :) And vampires not being able to cross water (like streams or rivers) is one of many vampire myths that are often regional and don't always apply to all vampires (the modern vampire is an amalgamation of many different myths and legend, and perhaps romanticized by such characters a Dracula) so it can make sense depending on which mythology the author decides to pick and choose from. However, thinking of a pirate vampire who can't get into his boat for fear of moving water is quite a fun thing to imagine ^_^
Clayton n: Odd choice of words, no? Would have been more odd if she said "We need him UNdead, not dead-dead!"
Rainstorm: I think Dauntes and Nick pretty much covered it ^_^ (I'll put more of that stuff in the comic, too)
Skullbie: Her name's Emma. Heh, it may seem odd with the censored swears, I just don't swear myself so I can't bring myself to type it either. I don't see the problem with a little blood though ^_^ (Of course I was raised on classic cartoons and old-school Mad magazine, so my tolerance for blood may be a little higher than some)
Bobby the Kid: Aw, thanks! But by the toning down part I just meant some of the comments about worshiping me and my art being the best...very flattering, but I think it's a little too much and people that dislike me use that as an excuse to belittle everyone here. For some reason, some people see enthusiasm and equate it with cult mentality instead.
Kohdok: After the awesomeness you did with the last one, I'd say go for it!
reidavidson: Ahh, thanks! I'll fix that right up, too bad DD's been kinda buggy with images, It'lll probably take a while to fix that. Much appreciated!
Everyone else who liked the Vic-kick:
Thanksies! I drew that blasted kick 5 times before I got one that looked right, thank Nick for telling me the others lacked impact, etcetera, or it would have been a pretty lame kick indeed ^_^
hum did you know that there is a book series called vampirates? on top of that there is another webcomic that also goes by that title. I don't know which came first, but I doubt that any of them are copies of the other.
a quick Google search will get you all three. I just thought its weird because it isn't exactly the most common theme. now that I think about it it really doesn't make sense since vampires can't cross moving water... (some say "running" water but in fact the origin is "living" water)
That sounds mostly right to me. The only thing I would add is that Q is probably a lot close to the center of the family tree then normal purebloods like Uma.
The only correct I'll throw is is that the Ancient One is more like "the human" it is what Q is rather then his nickname. Q's nickname as I recall from what he said in his cell is "Devil Eyes Quixoto".
Rain Storm: Q is called "the Ancient One" kind of like Charby is an "Elite". At least that's how I remember Amelius describing it. The Ancient Ones are like Vampire pure bloods, they were born vampires. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
