Interesting fact: The modern-day image of Santa Claus comes from the Coca-Cola commercials and is an amalgam of various depictions of the saint throughout the ages: from tall and thin to short and fat, from benevolent to somewhat malicious, dressed in priest's clothes or a a Norse huntsman's animal skin. As it turns out, the color red is not Coca-Cola's idea, either. The first time it was used by Thomas Nast in his Santa Claus comic strips in Harper's Weekly, published since 1862.
