Don't forget to check out the three updates from last week.
Magellan readers would know that I can't really have an action sequence without killing at least one of my characters… and so Esteban Frío bites the bullet… with his brain! A small hint is found here about the link that connects the Doppelgangers.
The Master Assassin makes a break for it but somehow I don't think he'll be getting too far with Epoch in hot pursuit. I really wish I had a chair rocket like that for boring meetings at work - only problem is there isn't a glass ceiling there so things might get a bit messy for me if I ever used it. Meanwhile the Doppelgangers have decided to turn tail and run themselves… Chant is using the same portal technique previously seen in the Captain Perfect intro.
See you on Wednesday for the conclusion to the Magellan leg of Crossoverkill…
@xmung - of course I realized it. I wrote a dimension of inteligent cats into a super hero pen and paper RPG. I can think in terms of 'different dimensions have different norms'. And on that note, platformer dimensions suck.
It might be instructive, also, to check out http://mindmistress.comicgenesis.com/box40.htm and especially http://mindmistress.comicgenesis.com/box45.htm.
@ Tuuron Tour: Also Syko Suki's real name is Suki Shimo (we'll get into that at some point but it's no great spoiler to mention it here)... "shimo" being Japanese for "frost"...
@kriss1989: that's more correct than you realise!!
Thanks for the comments everyone! The Master Assassin is awesome isn't he? My thanks to my fellow Crossoverkillers for indulging me in this leg of the story - and special thanks to Al for suggesting the use of the Character Assassins in the story in the first place...
@God of War
I suspect Kid Apocalypse is member of the Doppelgangers because he can sense death and that enables him to track the Death Avatars. Frio (portugese for frost) is the counterpart of Chant (the black with white hair is a hint) and Cecilia Frost (seen in Energize's reality).
Master Assassin is friggin awesome.
Also, we may have hit about doppelangler gang's motivations. So they are each other's counterparts and feel when another of them dies? That adds something to their motivations.
Today and Wednesday will be Magellan---but Friday will be an update by Essaybee, as we look in on Fusion's reality. So there will be three updates this week as well. (And NO, we are not promising to keep up this same update schedule forever and ever. Stephen's been awe-inspiring in putting out this many pages.)
And yeah, I'll miss the Master Assassin. I was hoping to have the Character Assassins to be the Gang's "hordes of Hydra" but Stephen had other plans for the group.---Al
Gotta love how even the Master Assassin's gun has that little frowny face on it. Of course, that does pale in comparison to the sheer awesomeness of a rocket chair. Although I do wonder how he's supposed to steer it?
Okay, this cements it: the Master Assassin is awesome. Such a fun villain, and it's great he is, because I have always loved the dynamic of the Character Assassins. It's interesting to know that such a frightening and faceless group would have such a flamboyant leader.
And I love how Syko Suki is the butt of the joke for so much of this.

um, yes, I totally noticed the white spot of hair before someone else pointed it out... ahem.
dwrean at 9:38AM, Feb. 1, 2011
also, boom! headshot!
Tolrick at 4:57AM, Feb. 1, 2011
@Insolent One: He probably has controls inside the skulls on the armrests.
AzuJOD at 9:40PM, Jan. 31, 2011
I'm guessing that the fact that each member of the Gangers all have a patch of white hair on their heads is not just a coincidence!

We have seen the hair of Firearm, at least, when unmasked.---Al

Also, I'm having Austin Powers flashbacks with the Master Assassin escape there.
Neilsama at 9:03AM, Jan. 31, 2011
I think that Suki calling Double-M a tinfoil bitch is the funniest thing in this entire sequence.
TuuronTour at 7:50AM, Jan. 31, 2011
In hindsight, we didn't see the hair of Kid and the other masked members.

That capsule must be very tough if it can take moving fast enough to outrun flight powers. Presuming Master Assassin does escape.

Wish I had a chair rocket.
FaerieKnight at 10:25PM, Jan. 30, 2011
Not sure which is worse. That Master Assassin thinks he's in a comic or novel, or that he's right but couldn't possibly realize how right he is.
