Well there you have it, poor little Ulric is Attez and will go one to become Cwen's father. This was my whole reason for doing time travel here, to show in brief Lord Attez's origin story. Tune in next chapter for the odd couple of Attez & Riddly!
FYI as always we'll be taking a week off between chapters and there will only be one update next week on wednesday. I hope you've enjoyed chapter 7.
Next update will be a long rant as I look back on two years of doing Cwen!
Corad: While that is true, I usually don't have time to burn like that and where I live the closest game store is 40 minutes away. I never have enough time to just hang out like that. At least not with my current employment.
Jonko: Interview feedback yay! I've been dying to get some of that. Thanks Jonko. The new cover will be up on next tuesday, I hope it is worth the wait.
Just read the interview and it was pretty awesome hearing both of you answer all the questions a lot of us had!
An animated Cwen would be awesome (dreams...). I'm also excited about the new siblings you guys spoke of, I wonder if this will be the one that actually likes hats!??? And now I'm biting my nails waiting for the new chapter cover because you got me excited!
you know its funny 4e has split the d&d community right down the middle and has made it harder for me too build a group.
anyway as one gamer to another is too hit the local game store and try get some more face time in .... sorry that's all i got good luck
taltamir: Well that is why I bring up Guild Wars 2 and Star Trek Online. Both so far seem to be doing their own things and keeping away from WoW clonage. As for ST while Iâm skeptical of the away missions (a historical weak point for ST games) the fleet combat looks good, the ability to make your own alien is interesting as the mechanic of improving your crew rather than getting new armor and weapons sounds like a good one. Not much is known about Guild Wars 2 other then the introduction of multiple PC races and the very free range of movement theyâve been working on but based on Guild Wars 1 Iâm fairly confident in the developers. GW starts off a mess of original ideas and was very well refined by Nightfall which is my favorite game in the series. Further certain classes like the Dervish were amazing in how much of a different take they were normal. Iâve yet to see another game which gives you and AoE focused Self buffing Melee class or for that matter advanced teleportation like the Assassin had. Iâm trusting the GW teams to continue their trend of refined and improved game play with GW2 and just keep my fingers crossed they donât dumb my favorite game elements from #1 in their attempt to make GW2 more main stream.
I've also heard some good things about Champions Online but I haven't looked into the game yet myself. I kind of burnt out on CoH some time ago so I'm not ready to get into a new Super Hero MMO and probably won't be for a while.
Lilithmae: Thank you! Iâm glad to have you along for this wild ride. The great thing about web comics is that there is no penalty for arriving late.
'Evil twisted sociopath',huh? He clearly hasn't met my ex sister-in-law...
Nice twist, btw;it got a genuine 'Motherfuck!' reaction outta me. Thought, now that I read back,it does seem rather like it should've been obvious.
I've thoroughly enjoyed this comic so far and can't wait for the next chapter. To think I procrastinated reading this for so long after I came across it;shame on me!
Taltamir: It doesn't matter why, all that matters is that things have gone to hell to the point I just can't enjoy them anymore. Really we've know ever since he got full creative control the GL is only as good as his co-creators.
Terrabyter: Well I was talking about the comics not the games. I have heard but so far I've been really unimpressed with the info they've released for it. This is just me but there is no way a Sith should be fighting a trooper on any sort of even footing. Besides who really wants to play a trooper. I mean bounty hunter I get but you would need to be on the level of the imperial guard to be on par with a Jedi. Then again I'm pretty bias at this point and I know it is a bit early to judge but right now I've got a lot more hope for Guild Wars of Star Trek.
to be fair, the intial star wars scripts by george lucas sucked even more than his modern stuff... the director made some pretty significant modifications...
Once he was famous and rich enough to have full creative control.... well, we saw what happened...
But there are some analysis of the original scripts and how bad they would have sucked online if you care to search for it.
Legolas: Well be prepared to die a lot if you are playing hard core 1st edition. 1st edition is more brutal then Dethklok. 2nd edition is better particularly given the huge wealth of info that is freely available or extreamly cheeply like the spell compendiums giving you tons of material to easily supliment into your game.
I'm not much interested in anything Star Wars these days except KotR and Legacy. The new star wars cartoon and crap fest novels have slammed that door close pretty hard. Once KotR and Legacy end I'm probably washing my head of Star Wars for good. I'm just so sick of Lucas screwing up a good tihng more and more.
Serenity is great but the material for it is very limited. Be prepared to home brew a lot of stuff for it.
It will be a sad day for me when I can find nobody to RPG with...
I still have to try first and second edition, but so far I am liking 3.5 just about the best.
I'm curious to see what they did with the Star Wars RPG, My sorces have told me that they made it a mix of both 3.5 and 4th edition... I think it has promise.
Serenity definately seems like an interesting RPG... I'll have to try it out. Best of luck to you finding a new group. After all, they are everywhere... scattered to the 7 winds.
Oh no! It's full color! I think I might just start turning my color off when I come to this page.
Not really.
Not that I had a lot of theories or anything (I tend to just let the stories unfold in front of me) but I really didn't see that coming. Then again, I guess I can picture Ulric tossing cats...
Corad: One in the same I'm afraid. In the quasi cannon that is 3PF the only character able to travel through time was the Govenator however doing so unmade the faberic of the universe.
Legolos299: Naturally I prefer my own home brewed game based on the Serenity RPG rules. I made a simple and advanced version for my brother and Amy to play. If I have to choose from the normal lists then I like 3rd edition the best using a wide range of additional rules like the 5 Rings or Psionic handbooks. Although I don't think the idea behind 4th edition, that being simplifying and speeding up combat, was a bad one I don't care for their execution and 2nd edition always seemed a little clunky with some rules like the fighter extended 18 strength. Plus the modular leveling system for 3rd really allowed you to explore some very unique characters. I actually posted some home brewed stuff on 3.5 edition over at the Order of the Stick forum before my D&D group fell apart. T_T (I am still in RPG withdrawl from that and my Magic the Gathering group getting scattered to the wind.)
Indeed. I'm very excited to see what you have planeed for attez after reading that. Too bad you don't hvae high enough stats for a fantasy world... I'm pretty sure that your intelegence would do fine along with Charisma. Probably Wisdom too.
Not sure If you've been asked by me yet, but what version of D&D do you prefur?
I'll be posting this again in the next update but check out our interview over at The Xcentrikz! I think it was out best interview yet.

or rather, I have yet to see an MMO released after WOW that is... And my point was that based on all that, I don't expect much from KOTOR MMO.
taltamir at 12:47AM, Nov. 23, 2009
I have yet to see an MMORPG that isn't a WOW clone... Heck, a lot of single player RPGs are now WOW clones.
