Maybe it's not the ability to cast magic, persay, but control over magic that's already present? Redirecting spells, nullifying protective wards, that sort of thing? Might explain why she hadn't used it before, previous threats were mainly physical in nature; even Sabril never fought her directly.

I think you should first make sure the twitter doesn't become a black box for those of us who don't subscribe to that... erm... peice of software. :) (what, me have social issues with social networking? neva!) there are free billboard services out there that might work better, and some will plug into DD and other comic sites I think... might be better way to connect. oh, and yay for Cwen turning the tables dramatically!
