i want to say i need some help with this only i dont see what anyone can do. i'v lost it, the thread of the story that i had in my mind has sort of dissolved and i'v lost it.
the story that was solid as rock in my mind has completely gone. i still remember its and all but its no good now.
i need to start over or move on… what do you think?

I'd tell you here to keep going and rave on about your gorgeous art and the nice pacing of your setup... ...but since I'm late and you clearly did keep going I'll just mention that this is a lovely drawing.

I love your art.
emjee at 6:44PM, Jan. 21, 2010
uhg. I hate that. That happened to my last story. I am just holding on to the characters until something better pops in my brain for them, whether a new plot or a way to evolve them into someone else. But for now, I am working on a different story. I hope you find what you need soon. I agree with what Lilac said about reorganizing.

This is unique. It's not like Charles Addams, it's not Edward Gorey, it's not Calvin and Hobbes. It IS its own thing. And it is both fascinating and spooky, unlike anything I can name. If you've lost the thread, go ahead and write down on paper, preff. on lined paper, everything that you now know. Then ask each character what they think. Where they are afraid to go. Not what they want,.. What they are afraid of..... I garunteee! interesting answers.
Kanidasha at 5:27AM, Jan. 13, 2010
Ahh, that's rough. It was such a unique storyline to. ;.; Take some more time off of it and maybe you might get some inspiration along the way.
repoman at 10:36PM, Jan. 12, 2010
If you've "lost" the story it just means that deep down inside you're personally bored with it. Go in an entirely different direction. Kill a character, add a subplot... anything to make it interesting to yourself again. You've got a great comic here.
Lilac at 3:48PM, Jan. 12, 2010
Oh, that has happened to me too a couple of times. My advice is to write down what you remember and try to reorganize the plot and everything. And if you still can't get it back, then I would suggest starting over. However if you don't feel up to working on it anymore, then it would be best to take a break until you want to work on it again. If you work on a comic that you no longer like, it'll end up taking all the fun out of it. Don't stress too much. You're an amazing artist and whatever you do I'll support. :D

You should do what feels most comfortable to you. If you feel that Denizens Attention can't be saved as is, start over. If you want to change it's direction, go ahead I absolutely adore your style, so please don't stop creating comics completely =] If you decide to move on and leave this comic unfinished, could you please re-upload the missing pages? They are all so beautiful!
cs3ink at 1:32PM, Jan. 12, 2010
That would be a TREMENDOUS shame, but you know what's best. If you'd like, you could use me as a sounding board to see if you could "re-discover" the narrative. I'd be honored to help.
Vynn_10_10 at 1:32PM, Jan. 12, 2010
She's so pretty! It's a shame she cut her hair... I've kind of lost the threads of my stories, too. But then I just build them back up, again, newly thought out and connecting to the previous pages. It's actually pretty easy. Try playing some good music and just lay down and let you mind wander for a while... it'll come to you. don't force any ideas. :)
JimmytheGothicEgg at 11:48AM, Jan. 12, 2010
If you really can't get a feel for the story again, I'd say move on. If you can somehow start over, though, I'd really love to see where this comic was going.
JinxMinx at 11:20AM, Jan. 12, 2010
If you feel you can't continue with this story and need to start over or take it another direction by all means! You have a pretty loyal following that would love to see anything you create ^_^.
Mangopieland at 8:39AM, Jan. 12, 2010
Hmm I'm facing a similar problem with, like, all my comics. Whenever I used to get stuck I'd think up a more favourable way to twist the plot around so it would appeal to me more; no use sticking to a plotline if it doesn't interest you. It'd be a shame to entirely lose Denizens! Attention! but I can tell that you're a gifted artist and writer so anything you do's going to be great. Maybe try something different, and if you feel the inclination come back to this one at a later date?
Dexter at 8:25AM, Jan. 12, 2010
Either; but please continue the comic in some sort of way :D
armandoB at 8:16AM, Jan. 12, 2010
very nice

Wow, I almost forgot what Alicka looked like with all her hair XD Seems as though your drawing or coloring has improved somehow. In any case, if you aren't feeling inspired by your story any longer, don't force yourself to finish. Making and sharing comics is supposed to be FUN, after all ^.^ I do love your flair for story-telling and pacing, and your fantastic art adds even more awesomeness. If you decide to continue with D!A!, I will definitely be around to see it. If you decide to start another project, I'll happily follow that instead. Be good!
Stellar at 8:00AM, Jan. 12, 2010
Holy crap, I just read though the archive and I love what you've done so far ^_^ Whatever you do, I can't wait to see it!
Karmie at 7:55AM, Jan. 12, 2010
For what it's worth, I love what you have of the comic done so far. If you do decide to start anew or leave the comic unfinished, I know I'd personally love it if you could post where you were going with the original storyline. (If you decide to restart the comic, keeping the original plot or aspects of it, then you might not want to reveal that much.) Whatever you decide, you're an incredible artist and storyteller and I'm grateful for what work you've shown us thus far.
_Pandora_ at 7:48AM, Jan. 12, 2010
Lovely
AsylumStory at 7:34AM, Jan. 12, 2010
Well, you could find a writer to help write a new story, or do it yourself. Might as well stick with what you've got as a basic premise and expand upon that base. It's very rare that a comic starts and ends with the same story or concept in mind.
demontales at 7:22AM, Jan. 12, 2010
You've left the story where anything can happen. If you don't like where it was headed anymore, change it. It's not too late.
smbhax at 7:18AM, Jan. 12, 2010
Do what inspires you!
