Due East - Book 4 Page 16
dueeast on April 21, 2008
You know, it doesn't usually take me three weeks to crank out a page…but sometimes, you just have to wait for inspiration. I don't believe in drawing a page if I can't “see” it first or in doing something half-heartedly. We needed a change, a break from the intensity of what Carolyn was going through. This was the result! We're near the end of the flashback (2 more pages to go!), but not the issue!
Lots of comments to answer this time! And my thanks to all of you who congratulated Due East's 100th page. :)
usedbooks: Hm, I never thought about OxyClean like that – but you're right, that IS creepy! lol!
D0m: Thanks. Yeah, she's at the bottom there…
DAJB: Way to be an optimist, my friend! ;)
travoramueller: There are always ups and downs to experimenting.
amanda: I'm glad you (and trevor) liked the car lights.
patrickdevine: Thanks. I knew someone would pick up on that! Yes, that is a 1967 Camaro.
Tantz Aerine: Thank you, I appreciate the compliments.
fleur de lis: Thanks for the 5!
Doctor Shadow: Thanks for reading! I'm glad you liked that.
JustNoPoint: Thanks – but it's parent, remember? Mom being dead and Gina's poking fun at that is what led to the blow up…
TitanOne: Thanks. We seem to excel at “intense.”
blntmaker: Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the shading. I love shading. :)
ttyler: Welcome – and thank you!
worstcase: Carolyn appreciates your sympathy, really!

Oh man, I'd like to know what happened on the other side of the conversation in this page. :D

I like your phone! It has lots of buttons. I love the last three panels where her face changes expressions. You captured a very realistic set of reactions. Nice job!

Top notch - and here's something rare for your comic...the use of onomatopoeia. With quite the comic-esque fashion. And a shocking cliffhanger that makes me go ARRRRGH! The movement here and the story are top-notch my friend! FEATURE! FEATURE! FEATURE! I say...YOU'RE next in line.

Great face transition on the bottom. Happy... um... WHAT?! Wait a minute, nobody is happy by being woke up due to phonecalls =p

I do not trust myself to speculate on what that suggestion might have been! ;-) Another lovely page!

"C'mon, just one more job and then you can retire. Target's name is Gina..." Or... "I told you, C.K., NO!"

Love the use of pencil, make this comic stand out!

That sounds like a promising disbelieving face. XD

Hmm... I know what type of phone call this reaction *reminds* me of, but I suspect it probably isn't some heavy-breathing anonymous creep on the other end. (I used to get phone calls like that. :-P )
